I'm pretty happy with this trade overall, but did not know until now what a bad left fielder Winker is. He's supposed to be slow as shit and just not at all intuitive out there. My hope is that he spends a lot of time at DH and that they start working him out at 1B as well.

If they were to have lewis in center, kelenic in left and winker at dh that could be interesting. But it goes against dipoto not wanting a designated dh

Makes a lot of sense for Winker to get the majority of DH at bats against righty starters. Torrens can DH against lefties with Winker or one of the kids getting a day off.

Yeah I did. And he did have the highest OPS of all the available LH bats.

Not every day but not sit vs. every lefty either. My guess he hits vs about half the lefties so that would be about 1/16 of the season or 25-30 games.
