Dumb analogy.
Sunday GT: Let's end these streaks. We shall fight Sandy on the bleachers
Re: Sunday GT: Let's end these streaks. We shall fight Sandy on the bleachers
Yeah, you are right; not my best work. lol
But back to may main point: We are social animals, and we display things we believe in, and we join together in these things. Whether it is displaying "12" flags, or wearing MAGA hats, or wearing "my body my choice" t-shirts. I might disagree with a particular cause, but I recognize why people are doing it.

Considering how little the average person knows about current events, the Ukrainian flag thing just strikes me as very insincere. I went to a Kraken game where they had someone sing the Ukrainian national anthem and people were cryinggil wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 7:06 pmYeah, you are right; not my best work. lol

Most people are sheep. That's my takeaway.MarinerMike wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 9:39 pmConsidering how little the average person knows about current events, the Ukrainian flag thing just strikes me as very insincere. That's very true. Even as a conservative I hear a lot of them calling liberals "sheep" and I ask "Aren't you the same thing in that you follow along with what you're told without even questioning it?" it's the weirdest damn thing.

I think a person can have only a little bit of information but still be passionate. Obviously there is a "Russian side to things" (e.g., allegations of genocide and nazis and not living up to the Minsk agreements) but I don't think many people like a big powerful country invading a smaller country and hitting civilian targets. What is insincere about that?MarinerMike wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 9:39 pmConsidering how little the average person knows about current events, the Ukrainian flag thing just strikes me as very insincere. They didn’t change their profile pictures when Afghanistan was being invaded? Idk, the profile pic thing just seems like a fad to me and a gross thing to try to score virtue points with.gil wrote: ↑Thu May 05, 2022 11:18 pmI think a person can have only a little bit of information but still be passionate. I had internet last summer when the Taliban invaded Afghanistan. Or do only Russian invasions deserve our moral indignation? I thought the Taliban were Afghani. How dare they invade their own country.MarinerMike wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 1:18 amI had internet last summer when the Taliban invaded Afghanistan.
