I don't know that he has ever really been an ace. 3.62 Career ERA. Solid but he's never been under 3 until this year. Even this year he was at 3.71 on June 22 and just got hot recently. He is probably a #2 on a typical World Series contending team.

Compare and contrast with Jordan Montgomery who looks absolutely gutted about being traded yesterday. And the Yankees made him sit a presser to say how upset he was. Shocking.

Oh Gawd! I feel awful for the guy. But it is part of the business. They had 4 extra starters other than their starting 5, and that was BEFORE they traded for Montas. So I get why they had to trade somebody.
