Only two innings but I'm not seeing an Ace yet.
I don't know that he has ever really been an ace. 3.62 Career ERA. Solid but he's never been under 3 until this year. Even this year he was at 3.71 on June 22 and just got hot recently. He is probably a #2 on a typical World Series contending team.
He has four plus pitches. His numbers are better than any of our starters on the ballclub. Therefore he's the Ace, until somebody else steps up.

Castillo was one out away from being out of the inning and he gave up a hit and a cheap home run to the bottom of their lineup. Can't argue the logic there. Solid outing, all things considered.

OPS in the last 30 is .704, last 15 is .774. Haggerty on the season is .870.
This is why anytime they're thinking about Toro or Moore playing, they should play Haggerty instead. At least until he drops down to earth.
I'd argue the same vs Frazier. Sam has played a lot of 2B.
Maybe Haggerty could take JP’s spot if they hadn’t validated him with a contract

That was the worst check swing call I've ever seen. This home plate ump is definitely waving the pinstripe pom-poms today and just cost us a baserunner to go with the free run.
CB Buckner is a bitch not calling for help. Thats Ball 4 all day long
