I didn't know about that web site, glad you did. So that was his third-worst accuracy game of the season, but by far his worst on game influence. Gave the Yankees a 1.73 free run advantage and his second-worst is 1.20. Third worst is 0.76.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 3:02 pmAccording to Umpire Scorecards, C.B. Buckner's "job" at home plate yesterday gave the Yankees a 1.7-run advantage. That is beyond awful. I'm sure it was just by chance that almost all his blown calls went one way though.![]()

You would think he would have abandoned his efforts to fix the game after the Ms went up 6-0 early in it, but i guess a deal is a deal.

I watched him on those Castillo pitches and he basically gave up on the pitch being a strike well before it crossed the plate because it looked like it was going to be a ball but with Castillo's crazy movement it would come back over the plate and he wasn't even watching it at that point. Just blatant incompetence.

It also didn't help that Torrens is a shitty pitch framer to boot. Dude cannot catch! But that's still no reason for the umpire to bail out on pitches over the plate.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 6:49 pmI watched him on those Castillo pitches and he basically gave up on the pitch being a strike well before it crossed the plate because it looked like it was going to be a ball but with Castillo's crazy movement it would come back over the plate and he wasn't even watching it at that point. It's really interesting how no one in the press talks about the crappy ump.
I get that the players and managers can't say anything, but the press could be a part of the solution if they were telling the whole story and asking tough questions about it.

Just shows how patient hitters will cause even the best pitchers to abandon their game plan
and throw mistake pitches up and in the zone. Our guys were waiting on those pitches and capitalized.
Awesome! I saw Houston do the same damn thing to Logan Gilbert last outing.
