Haniger Poll

Post by D-train » Sun Sep 04, 2022 4:42 pm

Ryan thinks he will test FA but Passan thinks he might accept the QO so I thought I would do a poll both for your preference and Prediction.

He is currently hitting .254 with a .753 OPS. 0.9 WAR in 34 games so about a 4.0 WAR pace for a full season. We all know his injury history. Turns 32 on my half B-day. Dec. 23rd

I believe the Mariners will offering a two-year deal with a team option for three year in the 13-14mil range with games played being able to lock in the third year option for him

And he accepts that? He should.

Of course if he doesn’t except they will place a qualifying offer on top of him which will affect any contract he gets away from them because I’m sure he would turn that down

Passan thinks he would take the QO which will be ~$19M because he is totally set for life and it is more than 3x more than he ever made. He can then use 2023 as pillow contract to prove he can stay healthy a full season. Then gets a mult year deal after next season.

I'm undecided. We'll see how the season plays out. I could see the M's giving him a QO.

Yeah, me too. I don't have strong feelings either way. They need to sign at least one starting OF though.

I hope they get him back on a 1-year deal. He's gotta prove he can stay healthy before getting anything significant.

Outside of Aaron Judge and Brandon Nimmo, it's really thin pickings in free agency in the OF. Nimmo is sure fire to re-sign w. the Mets.

I still don't think they can comfortably rely on Trammell, Kelenic, or anyone else in house to be a stalwart out there.

Go get Aaron Judge, bring back Mitch on a 1-year deal.

I'm not sure Pederson is a reliable OF anymore. He's pretty terrible out there. More of a DH these days.

Benintendi would be an OK signing... if they were really interested they would have maybe traded for him though?

I'm looking at this year's f/a signings as being the big boy variety that sky rocket us.

Judge. Judge. Judge! :D
