Build him a statue?...I'm pretty satisfied with the direction of the team. Deal is I don't see it as being about just making the playoffs. Think it was in the beginning, he tried to drag the roster he inherited to the playoffs. But to me it's became more just building a team that has now made the playoffs. There is room for growth there wasn't in that original effort

Yeah, a lot of fans are ok with "good enough".

I'm not one of them. Especially when obvious upgrades were readily available on the market.

It's great they made the playoffs, but they should be far ahead of where they are right now. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

And, like I said above, "making the playoffs" isn't that high of a bar to set.

He should have done that in his first year, just by keeping Trumbo, but he apparently had a relationship with Trumbo like he did with Kyle Seager so he just had to go.

Sergio Romo, Marco, Toro, Torrens, Upton, Lamb and Souza were worth -3.3 fWAR this season.

I'm no math whiz, but just keeping those guys out of the game would have us tied with the Blue Jays right now, at worst.

Add some production from extra Dylan Moore at bats, or starts from the #2SP Dipoto was supposedly trying to add preseason, and the team would be firmly in the #1 wild card spot.

I swear Mariners fans are the absolute worst. We could win the division and make the World Series, and yet I still think some of you would complain. Saw one guy say he wanted Vogelbach back. Do you guys even realize how happy you were when we got rid of him?

He dumped Trumbo because he established a Control The Zone philosophy which would have been fine in a vacuum but then he traded for absolute hackers like Healy, Valencia and Gordon which were in complete defiance of the CTZ. Horribly inconsistent decisions.

Would have loved Vogey's .786 OPS at DH over the complete garbage they went with that put up the 3rd worst DH OPS in baseball this season at .628

Yeah, that was the trying to push Z's roster over the finish line period wasn't it. If they had succeeded then that be one thing but they didn't. I wasn't really impressed with that period. Then with the "step back" dipoto switched course and focused more on developing talent rather than trading it

He went with Lind who was a good hitter his whole career than then sucked for us and then left and had another good year.

Seems we need to stop focusing on pretty good hitter and go for great hitters like Nelson Cruz and Cano who both continued to hit well.

Guys like Lind and Winker and Frazier seem to die on the vine at T Mobile.

The Mariners are the absolute worst.

Nobody cared when Pablo Lopez, or Freddy Peralta, or Chris Taylor were traded off either.

Because it's not our job to know which players to trade or keep, it's Dipotos job.

All we have as fans is the rear view and in the rear view, Dipoto has been a giant shitbird. Even with guys like Peralta or Lopez that fans like you probably have no idea we traded off to begin with. Those of us that actually pay attention aren't blinded by squeaking in on a Wild Card when we should have been fighting with the Astros for the division this season after making the playoffs last season.

The Mariners fans that are the worst are the apologists. The ones that think Dipoto is great simply because we did what all 29 other teams have done since we last made it, and made the playoffs. Yeah, congratulations on accomplishing the bare minimum.
