Exactly. Makes no sense to just sit on your prospects when there aren't even spots opening up for them any time soon.

It makes sense to keep the ones that you think are going to be stars. It's hard to always get that right though. On my list to keep, in Churchill's top 10: Ford, G2, Montes, Cole. The others can go.

Just don't trade them for some guy that's only got a year or two left on their contract and (in the case of position players) won't likely want to re-sign here. They need to develop hitters.

If they don't have enough to get the Pirates to bite Wil Myers is growing on me. He returned from injury on August 1st.
From then to the end of the season he hit .285 with a .831 OPS. Him and TT in LF and DH might be solid...

Yep even when they do ask a provocative question like Stone did about moving JP from SS for a FA, they just let them answer with a canned BS response instead of following up with the obvious, "Don't ya think that kind of puts you at a disadvantage in a highly competitive process to convince players to join your team?????"

I think whether or not you have inside information, you can do a better job with an interview. Make it more like a discussion. Idea: employ follow up questions, respond to answers with clarifying questions. Having a list of questions, letting your interviewee answer one at a time, and just moving on to the next question on the list, is the lowest form of conversation.
