Nope still under pay. Brash just gets you that much closer to Reynolds value. I think people are holding our current group of prospects in way too high of esteem. These kids aren't Julio, Kirby, or Gilbert. Hell they aren't even Kelenic 3 years ago! This group is expendable in the right package. They just aren't THAT valuable, yet.
Have you started to do some initial ground work on how might be available for our 3 picks yet. Love that Churchill said it is the most talented draft in 5 years.
You know I have. Yeah I read his article right when it came out. I've already been reading a ton on this upcoming draft. Let's see how much motivation I've got in the tank to do another run at this year's crop.
Come on Man!!! We are counting on you! Save lives by night and give prospects reviews by day. You can sleep when you are dead.

Oh that's right you need to take care of your girls. Ok maybe GL storm can take over for you.

Brent Stecker at Seattle Sports offer his "under the radar" targets for the Mariners:

Can't imagine how it must feel to Haggerty that he's the one people are talking about replacing on the roster instead of Kelenic.

Makes zero sense.

His write up of the targets is fine but he is totally fine with JK platooning in LF because "YOUNG!"

Not sure where to put this, but I think it goes in the Hot Stove thread.

Ken Rosenthal is reporting in the Athletic that the Pirates are willing to trade Bryan Reynolds. I am sure the priced will be astronomical, but if this is THE trade the M's are waiting for, they should go all in. The question is, do they have enough?

He says: Teams interested in Reynolds, however, say the price tag is similar to what it was in the past — exceedingly high.
One rival official, in what surely was an exaggeration, said the Pirates want a “Soto-type package” for Reynolds. Another said Reynolds is “super expensive.” A third described him as “unlikely to move.”

Yep, lottery level odds of us getting him. They don't take any chances...low risk low reward is how they roll...

FWIW Steamer and FanGraphs project Sam Haggerty with a 2023 wRC+ of 93 and Jarred Kelenic with a 2023 wRC+ of 104:

https://www.fangraphs.com/players/wil-m ... tion=1B/OF

Marcel projects Haggerty with a 2023 line of .242/.312/.386/.698 in 310 plate appearances and Kelenic with a 2023 line of .197/.276/.356/.632 line in 328 plate appearances.

Haggerty turns 29 years old in May and Kelenic turns 24 years old in July.

FWIW :)
