Listed as 5'9" and 180 pounds.

Carried by OBP and coming off the lowest SLG of his career. We need guys who can clear the bases, not just get on.

Glad we missed out on this one.
Totally agree he isn't exciting but he is Babe Ruth relative to JK.

He definitely is.

Problem is he's not even the best available option left this offseason, he certainly won't be the best we can get out there over the next 4 years, but we'd be stuck with him.

If we end up with Kelenic in LF, Dipoto should be fired anyways. He's not even the best option we have now.

I'm not convinced Haggerty/Trammell isn't better than Benintendi.

Who is your LF RH choice right now?

Only 66 AB against LH pitching in 2022, and I'm assuming Haggerty hit RH in those situations. His OPS was 1.100 against lefties. I'd say he should get a shot if it comes down to a platoon in left.

Bryan Reynolds is the best available so if we can get him for pitching depth I'd be in.

Beyond that it's short term options. Wil Myers and Michael Brantley are the best guys that may come on one year deals.

Reynolds would fill the holes for 3 seasons, and he's actually good, so he's Option A.

I don't see any upgrades that would be worth committing to for more than a year- maybe two- when Trammell/Haggerty gave us a platoon of .775 vs RHP and 1.100 vs. LHP.

If one of them don't work out, that's when it would be time to bring Kelenic up and give him anothet shot.

At this point, imo, if it's not:

Reynolds
Brantley
Martinez
Myers

that we're adding on 1-2 year deals, then it's probably not worth doing.

There are probably some trades that we don't know are available.

I'd add in Conforto he has shown that he can hit for a 150 OPS+ from the left side and we really need another lefty that you can hit 2-3-4-

I think you could get away with pushing Brantley as a #2 guy.

Brantley and Wil Myers would look ok I guess

1. CF JRod 150
2. DH * Brantley 125
3. 1B France 128
4. OF Teo 127
5. C **Cal 122
6. 3B Saurez 129
7. 2B * Wong 118
8. OF Myers 110
9. SS *JP 100

Bench best of Moore, Haggerty Ut, Murphy - Hummel, JK, TT, Marlow

That does not look horrible. It looks like we are not in on Conforto. But Texas may be. :x

You're right, Conforto is a great one to put in the mix with Haggerty so they're not relying on either Trammell or Kelenic.

Not giving anyone a free pass after they sucked last year should be the goal.

But either fill the hole with an impact bat or go on short deals until you can.
