Re: Jarran Reed returns
this is surprising. He left on bad terms, literally demanded out and taking less money because he "didn't feel the love" here. His production has gone to shit since leaving, too.
I'm not mad about it, didn't even realize he was a FA because nobody mentioned him... just surprised.

Re: Jarran Reed returns
well the bad terms were simply his own overvalued opinion of himself. think he figured that out now as the market has spoken. Pete and John not the type to cause (or take) offense and even in the one case they did screw up (Bobby), he's rumored to be coming back now too (please God!!) i thought Jarrad was pretty good up till his last year here, and reportedly good in Green Bay too. Gotta be at least slightly better than the disappointing Shelby, and most certainly better than Poona last year!SeattleAddict wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 1:23 amthis is surprising. I think you're right about the first part. Shelby Harris wasn't disappointing, though. Neither was Poona, really. Harris played well at times, not flashy, just a good, solid pro like he was advertised - he was simply too expensive on the existing contract. Poona had his worst year, but he was being asked to play a position that he just isn't built for. He still had a high "win rate" so it's not like he wasn't playing, he just wasn't made to be in the middle of a 3-4.57reasons wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 4:40 amwell the bad terms were simply his own overvalued opinion of himself. think he figured that out now as the market has spoken. If Jarran Reed can return to his old form, it's a great pick-up.

Based on the signings in Free Agency, I would say it is unlikely we draft Carter....no?
Re: Jarran Reed returns
We still are pretty bad at NT behind 35yo Al Woods. Be nice to get Carter, as a rotational piece with Woods this year. Or Sakia Ika would would pair with Woods to give us 700+lbs of stoppage in the middle of the lineMichael K. wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 3:17 pmBased on the signings in Free Agency, I would say it is unlikely we draft Carter....no?

Carter is a taller and leaner inside guy. I don't think he is a NT, is he?Bil522 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 5:32 pmWe still are pretty bad at NT behind 35yo Al Woods. 323 lbs isn't lean. He's more of a NT than anybody we have other than Woods.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 6:10 pmCarter is a taller and leaner inside guy. Just because we signed two big DLs doesn't mean we won't take Carter. To sign those guys, we released two others, so we're basically exactly where we were before. Jones and Reed would seem to be upgrades over Harris and Jefferson, but not HUGE upgrades. The D-line still needs help.

I'd be just fine drafting Jerrod Clark in the later rounds. He absolutely owned Olusegun Oluwatimi of Michigan during the Senior bowl practice. His bend was pretty impressive during the combine too. Ran a relatively fast 40 time at the combine for someone 6-3 334lbs.Bil522 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 5:32 pmWe still are pretty bad at NT behind 35yo Al Woods.
