Never in the current regime which is the all that is relevant to this year's draft. There will be significant bonus points for calling a trade up in the contest.

Re: Seahawks trading up to #3?!!
False!!!
When has John Schneider been in a situation of picking in the Top 5 and needing a "Franchise QB" with 4 highly graded enough to go in the Top 10? Never!!! That is HIGHLY relevant!!
I've already laid out my Top 5
1. CJ Stroud - Carolina
2 Bryce Young - Houston
3. Will Anderson - Arizona
4. Will Levis - Indianapolis
5. Anthony Ruchardson - Seattle

I was just answering his question and pointing out that what happened with prior regimes is irrelevant.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 1:56 pmFalse!!!

Also, when was the last time the Seahawks telegraphed their intentions the way they've been doing, with all these QB visits and mugging for the camera?
I still think this is rope-a-dope; happy to eat shit if I'm wrong lol.

Re: Seahawks trading up to #3?!!
I agree - I think they are trying to drum up the value of the 5th pick in an effort to trade back and acquire more picks - if JS can get a $1.50 for a $1.00 - that's just smart business. No one knows who will be there at 5 - so you have to plan accordingly for all options. I think they are intentionally hyping up these QB's in an effort to make someone trade up to 5 and over pay for that pick. It's a smart strategy if they can fill their needs with the rest of the draft - maybe even had a 1st or 2nd rounder next year. That's smart and strategic long rage planning.

I just can't believe other GMs would fall for it. It is so blatant. I mean tweeting selfies with ALL four QBs??? It is comical. I bet they are just having fun with it. Good for them.

I got knocked out of my 5th grade spelling bee on "Husky". I spelled Huskie because I was a UW fan and always saw it spelled plural so I just took off the S.D-train wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 9:19 pmGot knocked out of my 5th grade spelling Bee on "Receipt" Who the F put a P in there!!! Re: Seahawks trading up to #3?!!
it's funny to me when people keep bringing up how the Seahawks wanted Allen and Mahomes. Yeah, they really wanted the guys that went 7th and 10th in the draft if they dropped to 27 and 35. No shit. I bet they would've taken Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold (hopefully not Josh Rosen) or Mitch Trubisky if they dropped 20 spots, too, but nobody will ever talk about that.
The talk about trading with Cleveland I imagine went something like this:
JS: "hey, would you consider trading the #1 pick?"
Browns: "sure. give us Russell Wilson"
JS: "haha"
*click*
but yeah, they talked about it.
And why would they try to trade for the #1 overall pick when NOBODY had Allen going #1 overall?? If they wanted Allen that badly, they easily could've targeted the #4 or 5 pick which would have cost a lot less. Mayfield and Darnold were very clearly the #1 and #2 QB targets that year, and looking back on it, the top half of that draft class turned out really good EXCEPT for the QBs.
People run way too hard with little tidbits of information. The Seahawks look into EVERYTHING. Every prospect, every trade possibility, EVERYTHING. Just because they explore options doesn't mean shit. They aren't taking a QB (unless something really unexpected happens 1-4), and definitely aren't trading up.

I don't get into these things usually. I lost a poker hand holding four Jacks. The other guy was holding four Queens! Gut shot!Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 1:56 pmFalse!!!
