I feel like this is some sort of cosmic joke that the baseball gods are playing on us.

A year ago, Kelenic was the worst player on the team, if not in the majors writ large.

This year, he's arguably their best player while the other 25 are limping through the season.

I wanted JK to succeed - but not at the expense of everyone else on the team.

Be careful what you wish for.

I officially apologize. Thought I was golden at 7-0. Guess this team is going to continue to disappoint us, but hey we're Mariner fans.

What else should we expect?

I'm pretty sure none of this was your fault.

There's a fault line where you can take a number.

Servias and Dipoto have numbers 1 and 2.

There's this confusing moment in the game last night - Scotty looked as though he was signaling for a lefty reliever from the pen when Flexen had the bases loaded when, in fact, he was just asking the ump if he could have a pee-pee break.

When do we officially stick a fork in this team? Personally, I have no faith in them. What was gained from last year has been flushed down the crapper.

Nothing excessive or unreasonable about wishing for an elite prospect to become a good MLB player.

Yes, I agree.

But my point is that it seems like we can't have it all - either JK gets better and the team languishes, or JK struggles and the team thrives.

And I get that this is an oversimplification, but that's what it felt like to me the last few weeks.

But good for JK for apparently figuring it out.

Nothing more than a bizarre coincidence. Jerry should give him a $300M deal. If it wasn't for him Jerry would be right about exactly nothing about this team and roster construction.

It's early. Yeah, 4-8 sucks. 8-4 would be good. But ...

JK had an OPS of .566 4 games ago.

Flexen had one bad game.

Julio had a OPS of .914 4 games ago.

France and Geno are hitting well.

Luis Castillo is pitching well.

Gilbert, Kirby, and Marco have each had one bad game and one good game.

It's early.

Thank you for the reality check. I needed a control, alt, delete before I spiraled into a depressive state of sitting in a corner with a spoon and gallon of Ben and Jerry’s.

You’re right. And as AZ points out, if our manager could manage a little more, we might be able to right the ship. We do have a lot of talent they just hasn’t found its footing yet.
