yeah i noticed that too, one draft i landed Bateman and Aiyuik in trades so i didnt have to draft a WR. but the best part was getting DT D. Brown from Carolina! if only...

Adding the players in trade offers is ridiculous... but fun. I went ahead and picked us up a decent WR3 in Mike Evans, some backup RBs in Josh Jacobs and Dalvin Cook, and Budda Baker just for the hell of it. Not shown: also picked up the Chargers and Bears' 2nd round picks next year.

but they're not all ridiculous, at least from a buyer's standpoint. i've had a couple where the Panthers offered Brian Burns, plus a pick, and another where they offered Derrick Brown. those are basically your Will Anderson and Jalen Carter of this draft, minus the character issue in Carter's case, but with already proven success unlike the rookies. So yeah i'm giving #5 for that all day long!

2023 2 Round Mock based on the latest intel from League Sources

I like to listen to draft podcasts and I try and take down notes when I do. I'll write something down if they say that they've heard it from NFL scouts. As we draw closer to the draft, I end up cutting a lot of the "media-only" types from the process and focus on the guys who have real, solid connections to the league. No more analysts pounding the table for their "guy" and mocking him higher than what the league is saying. Mock drafts are about what you hear, and this is all second hand information from the guys listed below. Each position group has a series of quotes from the guys listed below. They all kind of blend together in the end. The mock is based on team needs and rumors, but let me know if they aren't a scheme fit/culture fit for your team.

Bryce Young is now the betting favorite after reports from Mortensen and Schefter stating that the Panthers think he is the best QB in the draft

Lance Zierlein (Houston native and plugged in to the org) thinks that if Young is gone then they'll go defense and try to find their QB next year. They still have too many holes to fill.

Schefter thinks that the Texans aren't a lock to take a QB at 2 and that the #2 pick is "for sale"

Hendon Hooker is trending up and could be a late 1st rd pick and has been linked to the Saints and Vikings

Multiple sources are claiming that the Titans will move up for a QB

DTR and Jaren Hall might be mid day 2 picks

Richardson's floor will be the Seahawks


DLs & OLBs

Some experts think Carter won't make it out of the top 5 but all seem to agree that his floor is Philly at 10

After seeing his stock sharply rise after the combine, Nolan Smith seems to be settling into the middle to end of Rd 1

Many experts keep mocking the Seahawks Jalen Carter, but they have repeatedly said over the last couple of years that they value character. It is a scheme/talent fit, but not a culture fit.

Mazi Smith is getting late 1st round buzz


OLs

Seattle seems locked-in on John Michael Schmitz to fill their need at center

Wright may be OT1 on multiple teams boards, and could go early teens

O'Cyrus Torrence has great tape, but positional value and mediocre testing (6.13 RAS) may push him down boards

Blake Freeland has been mentioned as a top 50 pick, because of his pass blocking and athleticism. He needs time in an NFL weight room


WR

Multiple scouts believe that Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the on WR with a Rd. 1 grade (remember that teams don't have to give out 31 first round grades this year)

Addison has size going against him and he doesn't have the speed to justify being taken early, despite the great tape


TE

Very deep TE class may actually push the picks down. Could see a run in the late 2nd/early 3rd

Kincaid has age and injuries going against him, but his tape is phenomenal


RB

Many have been saying Bijan can go earlier than positional value may indicate

Gibbs is being underrated in the media and should go in the Breece Hall, Kenneth Walker range


ILB

Only ILB that could sneak into Rd 1 is Drew Sanders, otherwise a poor LB class


DB

Some maturity concerns have popped up around Cam Smith, so don't be surprised if he falls into the middle of Day 2

Forbes is one of the lightest CBs ever and is definitely an outlier

Julius Brents is firmly in Rd 2 after talking to scouts

Riley Moss is a 2nd Round lock

I've heard more than once now that Seattle is very on JMC. I wouldn't be mad at them for it, but you could get sane value later in a Luke Wypler possibly at 83

I don't know why I even look at mock drafts, morbid curiosity maybe, but this one pissed me off more than most.
