I like him. I still wonder what we are going to do for a D-line.

Listening to Schneider's presser 3 days before the draft, he sounded like you could find a NT anywhere in the draft. I mean they got Poona undrafted ya know. There are a lot of space eaters on Day 3, so I'm cool with getting Denver's 4th and extra ammunition for next season in case we need it. This fits exactly, with what he was saying.

And yes Charbonnet is a beast. I didn't think there was any possible way that PCJS would have the balls to take him in the 2nd but they have transformed our RB weakness into a strength in a matter of 2 drafts! LET'S GO!!!

Unless this guy is the second coming of L Taylor I do not get it. They also Alton, the guy they got last year but was injured Tyreke Smith 5th Rd.

I like the RB pick. I guess you could pick starter quality guys at the interior line spots with out 2 4th and 2 5th rounders. I really could see them spending 3 pick on DL and 2 on the OL and then add another RB with the last pick.

I suspect Darrell Taylor may get put back down on the DL and play a rotation at LDE and on passing downs in the DT spot. Hall will take Taylor's OLB/ED duties. This would remove the notion of needing to sign a guy like Frank Clark for this duty.

I hear you. I love the RB pick too. A lot of people didn’t want the Seahawks to draft a quarterback and yet, when the team does what it can to make Geno Smith’s life as easy as possible so he can thrive, there are complaints.

I’d rather be excited about the arsenal Smith has to work with. Metcalf, Lockett, Smith-Njigba, the tight ends, Walker and Charbonnet. All with two, young book-end tackles entering year two and the chance to bolster the interior O-line tomorrow.

I've always found it weird how little attention centers get in the draft, considering how important they are. But I guess you can just train-up another o-lineman, so it's not a giant deal

Trade eval: Pick 83 value of 861. Pick 102 value of 656. Next year's pick value varies but using the criteria of "last pick of that round" valuation, that is 687 pts, for a total of 1343. We gained nearly 500 pts of value, which is roughly a mid 5th round pick above 'equal value', and if Denver sucks, it's more.

Damn fine trade (on paper).

One final point. I know a lot of people want to create a loaded defensive front full of top picks. Let’s not forget it took the 49ers nine years to create their D-line/defense. The Seahawks made a big splash on day one of free agency to land Dre’Mont Jones. They brought in the dependable Jarran Reed too.

Add a nose tackle on day three and some depth, then work to create some money to bring back Shelby Harris or Al Woods or Poona Ford and there’s a chance for growth. It might not be an elite D-line but it can be better with some day-three moves and some re-signings. The Jones signing in particular was a big splash move we shouldn’t forget when evaluating the off-season as a whole.
