Hopefully yeah, but he was significant, he was a captain. Probably be nice to have him back
"It's a selfless, thankless job," Hurtt said last year. "But the guys that know they have a lot of success playing behind him, they know how valuable he is. His job is to take on two grown men, 600-something pounds between him and control two guys so the guys that play behind him can make tackles and not have to deal with blockers and address blockers. And he'll do that every single time that he is out there, and never complain, doesn't want any credit. As long as it helps us win, that's what it is always about. So, the definition of unselfishness."

If they gave a fuck about Woods they wouldn't have cut him. The season doesn't hinge on Al Woods.
It's a salary cap numbers game
I thought you weren't a salary cap expert. ;)

I know I just think we sucked on Run d because the LBs couldn't fucking tackle but we shall see.
Don't be an ass! I never said I was. I do know that we're up against the cap. Only a moron that hasn't been paying attention wouldn't know that. There will be have to be roster cuts. How that fucking works I have no clue. We''ve played this cat and mouse game with Woods for a few seasons now.

“Al’s situation was really cash and cap,” Schneider said.

“Everybody has a cash budget in the NFL that you need to work within, and every team is probably slightly different. Although it may show if you go to like websites or whatever and say, ‘Hey, where are the Seahawks with their salary cap?’ there’s a lot of budgeted items that fall into that as well when you talk about incentives, premium roster bonuses, injuries.”

I'm not disappointed Poona is gone. Woods is the prize necessary to anchor the DL and rotate with Cameron Young.
Yeah why would we want everyone back on from the worst run D in the NFL. I don't get it.

he played in all 17 games for the Seahawks, with 16 starts, and was on the field for 56 percent of the Seahawks’ defensive snaps and 16 percent of special teams snaps.
There is his value I'd say, he is like a innings eater
"value"

A Free Agency Swap of Poona for Reed!!!! Heck yeah, every single day of the week. Reed is far superior to Poona.

If they can swing it financially with Woods that would be great. He is good as a rotational player, but as the lead dog????

Cut Mone and save 2.7 Million and use it on a better player. Yes he is injured, but we need a better player.

I am all for cutting Dissly too. 6 million savings and get a player that can actually play. 5 years 110 rec 1249 yards and 12 TDS. He is waaayyyy over paid. He's played in 1 full season in 5. He gets hurt every single year. Now he has played more than early in his career. But, he is over paid.
