yes. Edelman might be the perfect comp. Don't expect him to lead the league in receiving yards, but every other team is scared of him.

Seahawks offense has been missing two things in recent years (well, besides O-line): a slot receiver and 3rd down back. We may have added both (AND some O-line help). If things work out as hoped, this could be a truly dynamic offense.

Gotta love that preseason irrational optimism. They could have Marshall Faulk in his prime on the roster and Waldren wouldn't be able to figure out how to use him in the passing game. Hell, having 3 good WRs on the field at the same time might be enough to melt his circuits.

Yes, but i'm doubtful upgrading slot receiver and 3rd down RB will make it any better. Waldren can't even draw up a workable screen play or figure out how to exploit Metcalf's speed.

So, just to be clear, in a 'rebuild year', Geno sets the team record for passing yards, thows 30 TD's, leads the NFL in completion %, is 8th overall in the league in passing in his first year as Seattle's starter and replacing a former legend who, as it turns out, is the one who could not execute Waldron's offense or handle a cover 2 look, while smith leads an offense that was the 9th highest scoring unit in the league - with two rookie tackles and a suspect oline, overcoming Penny going down again, and in your mind, Shane Waldron, the play caller and offense designer is the problem? Got it. Oh, follow up question! How many dishes were broken and puppies kicked in your house when the Seahawks basically lost to the Broncos in the SB? I mean, Seattle only scored 43, and held the greatest offense of all time to 8 points, yet somehow I think you probably found something to complain about.
I am sure that opposing defenses make no effort to scheme to cover Seattle's #1 receiver - he should just be running free, uncovered and unimpeded on every play for streak route TD's - or Waldron's a failure. Makes sense! I wonder if we can trade JSN, the top receiver coming out of college, and Charbonnet before the season starts, because, there's no point - this offense is a total failure under Waldron. Should probably just give up now.

Please cut and paste where I said that - those words specifically. You can't because I didn't. You are trying to distract from your over the top criticism of Waldron post getting blown apart. Funny you won't address my counter argument. Literally nothing. There's plenty of reasonable criticism to go around, but lamenting Waldron after geno goes to the pro bowl running his offense is absurd. I'm still trying to understand why you are so bitter and angry towards the seahawks - especially after the miracle of last season when 'the franchise' was kicked to the curb and they were expected to be a last place finisher, but instead, all geno and waldron did was go to the playoffs and a pro bowl - I honestly cannot wrap my mind around your criticism and how adding awesome skill players won't make a difference because waldron is somehow imcompetent - despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary. It defies logic. Please explain in further detail. Yeah, I expect seattle's offense to be better - better players, more experience all around, more skill players - how could anyone NOT come to the conclusion they have improved? barring injury it seems likely a top ten offense that added weapons all across the board - in concert with what looks like a revamped defense, which will probably mean more offensive possessions - thus likely resulting in an increase in offensive productivity. Anything is possible but "better" seems far more likely than "worse". "Significantly"? You made that qualifier - I did not. You want to make a case that I am expecting extreme improvement - so if improvement is less than that - you can say "I told you so" - to something I never claimed. They are already a top ten unit before the offseason acquisitions which have been universally praised.

Imagine how the running game is going to improve with the defense having to account for that wide receiver group. There is nothing wrong with having optimism about this team and this offense - you don't have to share it - but I think you are in the drastic minority.

So (given your high opinion of Waldron) shouldn't you think the passing offense will be significantly better after adding the top WR in the draft and a RB that excels in receiving? Not to mention upgrading Center and RG?
