He was drafted in the third round so he didn't come in with a lot of fanfare. He doesn't put up pinball numbers. So yeah, nothing about him is a star. In terms of numbers, his pressure rate is a bit pedestrian

Right, he's not a 4-3 end, he's a 3-4 end and a 4-3 tackle. Outside of Aaron Donald, JJ Watt or for one special year Joe Klecko, those guys never get the same sack stats that casual observers recognize as stars. But almost every QB will tell you they'd much rather face a star outside end like Von Miller than an inside game wrecker like Donald or KC's Chris Jones. Hopefully Dre can catch and keep up with that Jones.

While doing some associated wikipedia research,
I find it interesting that Dre'mont is basically at the same stage of his career as DK Metcalf. Still young, but with
veteran experience.

So how's he any different than Shelby Harris?

Looks like the D line is going to be terrible again.

I literally thought he was a pro-bowler based on the way the local media talked about the signing.
By far the biggest FA signing in PC JS era. Kind of like Jerry signing Pollock. lol

Definitely tells you they didn't give a F about his PFF rating.

What about Michael Bennett? But yeah they have signed almost no big name FAs.

It is in the article I posted in the OP:
The total given to Jones, who played the previous four years with the Denver Broncos, represents the most the Seahawks have handed to any external free agent in the Pete Carroll/John Schneider era, surpassing the five-year, $41 million deal contract signed by receiver Sidney Rice in 2011.

Bennett only got $33.3M for 2013- 2017 from the Seahawks and he was a way better DE than Jones. Even adjusted for inflation that was less than 10M per year today. I'm guessing Jones doesn't play out that contract.
