I'm looking forward to when the first trans female takes the booth, especially if it's a former player. Maybe somebody like that John Lithgow character from The World According to Garp. Might as well turn it into a complete carnival freak show like everything else.

Couldn't care less about gender and i hope that the "first woman to..." virtue signal by NBC isn't why she got the job.
She's actually pretty talented and knowledgeable. I find her voice annoying (like most female voices, it just doesn't sound right in sports commentary). Of course, it is still 100% a virtue signal hire.
Cant be that much worse than what they've had. i've not been super impressed with Raible, dont find his voice particularly pleasing, and whoever it was before that was worse if i recall, way back in the cheapskate Behring days. Got spoiled with best-ever Calabro and Niehaus, which made it stand out even worse that the city's most popular franchise would lag so far behind.

We had Menefee or whatever his name is for the preseason games. Pretty bad. Raible is good, I think because he's a Seahawk through and through, but you're right about Calabro and Niehaus - both of them were soooo good. Hard to compare anybody to them.

she's just the preseason announcer. All I expect from preseason announcers is to help me navigate who all the rookies are, and she does her homework, so I'm sure she'll do that.

Dave Sims is still around?? I'm in the blackout region, so get almost zero M's broadcasts, save for the rare times they're on nationally.

The bar for Mariners broadcasts has been so low, it's like they don't care. Niehaus was such a goddamned legend, I guess they just gave up on finding an actual replacement.

I thought they had local broadcasters for the preseason games.

Sims is the worst. He is just horrible. He makes me want Fairly back (RIP).
