Can't believe everyone believed that dope that guaranteed they would be for sale very soon.

They are going to be sold before 2028, maybe sooner rather than later

As I read it, 2028 is pretty accurate. And with the pace of the selling off the estate picking up it probably won't be left to the last minute. It's a temporary situation, the NFL has issues with it as well as the deadline

Ultra-rich people and their lawyers, locally and nationally, know the Vulcan trust's requirement to sell Paul Allen's assets is within 10 years of his 2018 death. Seahawks/Blazers could be sold at any time should a take-or-leave blockbuster be offered.

The reason this is in the news at this time likely has to do with the acceleration of the liquidation of Allen’s estate as 2022 opened.

When will the Sonics be returning from the desert Island the team has been stranded on with Tom Hanks for the past 15 years??? Has to be a link out there with the exact time table. lol I remember when the left everyone thought it would be less than five years.

Only person that knows when the Hawks will be sold is Jody and her inner circle, everyone else is just trying to appear to be smart with access to very limited public info.

Sure, but it's not just going to go on and on and on. She has to sell, it's mandated that the proceeds of the trust go to charities, not winning a SB. It's a temporary situation, she will resolve it in the next few years. Why that's even a big deal I don't really know.

The Oklahoma City Dunder, according to Forbes, are the 24th "best" performing franchise. Even the Sacramento Kings are ranked higher. The franchise has appreciated by 400% since they moved. Anybody think they wouldn't have done better if the team had stayed here? Howard Schulz = a-hole.

What is this May 2024 date? That's the first I heard of it. Why would she have to give 10% to the state?

I don't know of anybody that thought she'd sell THIS YEAR, but I agree that 2026-2028 seems like a reasonable time frame.

the 1997 law that funded the construction of the team’s stadium in Seattle provides that the State of Washington would be entitled to 10 percent of the gross proceeds , if the team is sold before May 2024.

aw, see I read that wrong. I thought it implied she'd have to pay 10% if she sold AFTER that date.

Honestly, though, it would be an act of good faith to pay back the city/county/state with the profits. Maybe not 10%, but considering it'll be like a billion dollar profit, return something to the taxpayers. Don't read this as me saying she's obligated to do so, just that it would be a cool gesture to further cement the family legacy.
