There is a reason why shallow water is hotter than deep water.
Are you sure they are not talking about a puddle? So depth is very important.

Shit man, I can go out and make a puddle, and take it's temperature in the late afternoon, then say that The Walla Walla Valley has a water temperature of 101.5. Does that make it true?

NOAA data shows that the Manatee Bay buoy in South Florida recorded triple-digit temperatures at 5 feet below the ocean's surface, potentially breaking a world record for ocean sea surface temperatures.
Terms of it being a world record, sound like there are all sorts of qualifiers, the size of the bay, the amount of vegetable matter in the water, ext, but it does seem warm.

They're probably working on it at this very moment. Anything's possible. I think it's more at the government level at this point. Lobby for more money to combat homelessness, and the money goes anywhere but toward addressing the problem. And we all continue to pay for it.
Homelessness, 'global warming, all hilariously obvious distractions to keep the idiot masses from talking about the economy, corruption, the Ukraine grift, the defund the police debacle, the border crisis, record energy prices, inflation, the afghan withdrawal debacle that armed a foreign entity, the hunter Biden scams - all the real issues the democrats cannot talk about and debate - because they are the fucking cause of all these disasters. So, like a good propoganda campign, they try to turn your attention away from all the things that really matter - because they are the reason it's so shitty. Jesus, is there anyone left on planet earth that does not see this for what it is? The dems have LITERALLY said they won't participate in any debates. Brandon literally campaigned from his basement on no policy except 'vote for me and I'll give you free stuff" then hilarously and predictably didn't deliver because he had no intention nor authority to. Americans are finally seeing through the democrat grift. Seattle, Portland, SF, LA, Chicago, NYC, how many more examples do you need?

Dr. Judith Curry has a new book out. She is one of the preeminent climate scientists in the world. She say in her new book that climate has always changed and it wasn't caused by man or our SUV's.

https://www.amazon.com/Climate-Uncertai ... 282&sr=8-1
I'm going to try to read this. I know of Judith Curry because she is a favorite of Professor Cliff Mass from UW, who (I'm pretty sure) has been talked about before on this forum. Cliff Mass (absolutely correctly in may opinion) comes down hard on many of the sensationalist media stores ("tornado outbreak due to climate change!"), but also argues that there is scientific evidence of slow, gradual warming that is human induced. Judith Curry, from what I have read, questions some of this scientific evidence.

Curry is a very qualified and distinguished scientist, but it seems that her major fame is due to being a bit of an outlier and contrarian on this, with positions that have changed over time. In 2005 she wrote a paper (published in the journal Science) that associated increased hurricane strength with a calming climate.

Literally changed my mind about retiring there because of it. But that is what humans do, they adapt. Not a big deal.

btw we haven't had nice warm weather in March there for ST for years....

I lived there full time in the late 80's when the temperature in downtown Phoenix didn't get below 100 degrees day or night for 100 days.
Before Donn tries to jump on this and "TRY" to prove me wrong, I don't believe there is any evidence of this other than what all the business shop owners were saying at the time. But if you consider all the concrete, steel and glass in the core of Phoenix, it isn't out of the question.

All this concrete, steel and glass are also the reason it rarely rains in Phoenix proper. It's created a heat bubble that keeps the clouds away, but don't worry folks, they still get the humidity from the monsoon clouds as they dump rain around the valley.
