There really isn't traffic though (unless someone misses a block and somebody breaks through the LOS) until he would hit the LOS near the sideline. By then he will be at full speed and it will be the DBs he crushes that will be getting injured not him given his massive size advantage.

DK Mass x DK velocity = Dead DBs. lol

DK is considered seattle's #1 offensive threat - DC's specifically scheme to stop HIM first. Double coverages, etc. If it's man coverage, as soon as DK goes in motion, whomever is assigned to cover him goes with - and likely whomever has the secondary assignment also shifts to the side he is motioning to - that is why there is traffic - the defense shifts to create an imbalance that is designed by the scheme to thoroughly cover him. If it's a zone scheme the zone shifts to the side he is motioning to - again creating an imbalance - and traffic. Dk functions best running free in wide open spaces - not in sideline traffic which has very limited space. DK is best used as a decoy in those situations - you use him to move defenders away from the real point of attack, thus creating the advantage for the offense. DK is not best used sideline to sideline but rather in a north-south style, IMO.

They obviously agree with you. I would just like to watch DBs fly around like pin balls after he hits them going full speed. I bet he would too! :D

Dude - Smith Njigba is the perfect jet/fly sweep candidate - and I'll bet $$ you see that in the playbook this year.

I totally agree. He has make you miss moves. It’s going to be fun. What a great pick he was at 20.

I would not be using DK on end arounds or jet sweeps. he's too big and trying to maneuver in too much traffic. You need a smaller body with shiftiness and elusiveness to navigate more efficiently in traffic. harvin was the prime example. If DK got injured on a play like that this place would meltdown. Use DK for his straightline speed and one on one matchup advantages - not for behind the line gimmicks in traffic. The Eskridge's of the roster are better suited for those types of plays.
Valid point. He is a lot bigger than Debo, but I don't think anyone wants them to use him exactly like Debo. But one carry a season? We are throwing passes to George Fant and it seems like we ran a few of those fly sweeps for David Moore. Why not the most explosive player on the team? I don't think it's fear of injury. They throw bubble screens to him, I would think that is more a play for a guy that is elusive than a fly sweep that is designed to get to the edge and let a guy out run the defense.

Again, a very valid point. But I don't think running it more than once a season on average is a bad thing. Running it once a game would still be rarely using the play.

Why would you say that? DK's 40 time is like 2/10th faster and JSN is coming off a hamstring injury. JSN is more of a technical WR with excellent route running and hands moreso than a tackle breaker or speed guy.

Eskridge is the perfect candidate, IF he were healthy.

Nobody is saying to run DK on the sweep 5 times a game, just maybe more than once a season. Give the defense something else to worry about.

I actually don't care who they have run it, as long as it's not a TE or David Moore.

Totally agree. Once a game is reasonable. Maybe give Nick Bellore a shot? :)

Good Lord, the David Moore love was baffling to me! I imagine that teams were rolling coverage to the guys that were more likely to hurt them, but I was so sick of seeing Hollister and Moore come up two or three yards short of the sticks all the time! It was like Wilson was in love with the two of them. The amount of wasted targets on them so we could punt it anyway just baffled me.

Hollister would have the first down easy, and then just get blown the fuck up short! That guy had twenty times more heart than he did body. Wyman used to say that watching him leave the locker room after a game was like watching someone walk away from a car crash. He was just beaten to shit.
