Iron man awards to Hall and Reed
Iron man awards to Hall and Reed
They have somehow managed to make it through the gauntlet of Training camp and 2 Preseason games unscathed (unless they are hiding injuries)
The other eight rookie draft picks not so lucky:

Re: Iron man awards to Hall and Reed
Maybe they should look more closely at injury history as part of their college player evaluations for the draft. This has become the norm under Carroll/Schneider. I get the feeling a lot of these guys don't show up to camp ready to go and wonder if that has something to do with the team culture and the perception that Pete is soft.
Or maybe i'm all wet and this is the norm throughout the league. It really kills one's excitement for the season to begin though. I am almost to the point of not caring any more about individual players and just rooting for the uniform.

We all know there are going to be SOME injuries during Camp and Preseason. Injuries like JSN are just going to happen and can't be prevented unless you don't let guys play but 80% of your 22 yo picks hurt within a ONE month period. WTF????Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 2:37 pmMaybe they should look more closely at injury history as part of their college player evaluations for the draft. I recall this injury thing being discussed a long time ago. People were questioning the Strength & Conditioning Coach at the time.
Currently, the Seahawks site lists Ivan Lewis as the Head of Strength & Conditioning (14 years experience). And the team employs 4 Strength and Conditioning Assistants.
They must be doing something right or they wouldn't be there.

Maybe they belong to Local 6969 Physical Trainers union of America. That is the only reason a lot of MLB umpires have jobs....douche wrote: ↑Wed Aug 23, 2023 4:26 pmI recall this injury thing being discussed a long time ago. People were questioning the Strength & Conditioning Coach at the time.

Cowboys lost two rookies to torn ACLs in that preseason game
The Dallas Cowboys took a big hit in their second preseason game, a 22-14 loss in Seattle to the Seahawks. Two promising rookies suffered torn ACLs and will now miss their inaugural NFL seasons.
The bigger loss is linebacker DeMarvion Overshown. The No. 90 overall pick from Texas, Overshown had been playing well throughout training camp, per Cowboys Wire,
Re: Iron man awards to Hall and Reed
Witherspoon is going on 6 months of issues. Brooks back from ACL in 7. And we still don't know if Witherspoon will play. Still don't like an undersized, not fast, corner who prides himself on hitting. And one who put himself over team even before stepping out in minicamp. I'm sure his selfishness had nothing to do with his hammy issues.

Still using Ivan Davis I believe, he was critized before for injuries. Still not convinced he's responsible. Need a more though analysis. Is he responsible for rookie conditioning before they come to training camp?

From the article, interesting, Dodd is the sort of writer I'll think highly of, thinks he's one of the best in the business

USC reportedly (per Lynn Swann?) has lost strength coach Ivan Lewis to Seahawks. Huge loss. One of the best in the business.

You must be joking. Seriously. Abysmal hire by the Seahawks and addition by subtraction for USC.
