Re: Hawks Revival Game thread
The point of the fake is to confuse the defense. I can't see how you could make it work where if the QB does a really good job of it the defense gets to hammer him. If it was the rule it would be eliminating fakes

I get it, just a bit tired of how different the game is for QBs than everyone else. He was only defenseless because he was trying to continue to sell a fake. The biggest issue I have with Taylor hitting him, is he was standing there so still...it SHOULD have been obvious he didn't have the ball.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 4:45 pmThe point of the fake is to confuse the defense. And the fact that no other Hawks were remotely near him. Did he think the O line just did an amazing job pass blocking on everyone but him????Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 5:02 pmI get it, just a bit tired of how different the game is for QBs than everyone else. I stand by my opinion that he didn't even carry out a fake. This was just Taylor being an unaware idiot.
Re: Hawks Revival Game thread
He's clearly standing and turned like he has the ball and is preparing to pass. Especially the first picture.
I'm not against the penalty though.

There is no "preparing to pass", he's just... standing there.
If standing there with his back turned qualifies as a fake, then sure, it's a fake.
Not to mention that the other 20 players on the field are all following the ball carrier. If Taylor can't see that, I question his football IQ or instincts, and he'll do the same stupid thing 100 more times this season.

And if he had actually injured him it's no longer funny
Re: Hawks Revival Game thread
I didn't say he was doing an amazing fake out job, but there's a reason he's in that position. He's not just "standing there."SeattleAddict wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 9:17 pmThere is no "preparing to pass", he's just... standing there.

He's trying to draw the rush just enough to give the runner an easier escape route. Normally defenders figure it out before smearing the qb, so not really his fault that the Seahawks have a huge dummy sprinting at him.

Yeah, he certainly wasn’t just standing there. But I imagine in one of the six or seven steps taken to hit him? Taylor should have figured out he didn’t have the ball.Millikin wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 12:45 amI didn't say he was doing an amazing fake out job, but there's a reason he's in that position.
