Funny, 0.1 behind Bosa, yet if you listen the talking heads, Bosa is the best of all time. Clowney is also the only one to not eat dinner at the same table growing up as another NFL pass rusher!

He’s PFF’s third ranked defensive end (89.6), behind only T.J. Watt (91.0) and Nick Bosa (89.7).

I could get on board with Fowler. I remember posting on the ST forum when the Rams got him last year that I thought it was a great move on their part. If it is affordable, why not? Fowler and Clowney next year would be what we thought we had, and maybe more, this year with Ziggy.

If the Seahawks want to add a true impact rusher with speed to play across from Clowney, Dante Fowler stands out as a possibility. He signed a one-year deal in LA for $12m. His market was lukewarm a year ago, forcing him to sign a prove-it type deal. In terms of sacks, pressures and TFL’s he is performing at the level the Seahawks need. He doesn’t turn 26 until next August. He ran a 1.59 10-yard split at his combine (anything in the 1.5’s is considered ideal). We’ll need to see what his market is but that’s the guy I’d put a circle around.
Whatever happens, adding a speed element to the pass rusher is much needed.

A lot of people questioned Seattle’s decision to bench Blair for the Niners game, especially given PFF in their special PFF way graded him as Seattle’s best defender against Tampa Bay. This is an indication as to why the Seahawks made the move.
The fact that PFF graded him highly suggests he didn’t play badly in terms of the basics. Yet PFF don’t have intimate knowledge of Seattle’s scheme. It’s possible he’s not quite nailing the scheme and thus he’s conceding yards at a rate the Seahawks are uncomfortable with.

Personally I would rather have them invest in Reed and draft or trade for a other pass rusher. Haven't really looked to see who's available FA. Think they can do better than Fowler. I still have my Von Miller fantasy..

Von Miller is 30 yo and has 4 sacks. I think would prefer Barrett who is 26 and has 11.5 sacks and will be an FA.

You think Miller opposite of Clowney (if they sign him..) at Leo would only get 4 sacks? Miller has 4 sacks this year. He has 102 in his career. When Bradley Chubb got hurt it made it easy for teams to double Miller. Barrett is playing on a line with Suh and Vea.. You don't think that is effecting his sack totals?

I wouldn't complain if we got him but still would prefer Barrett. Might be buying high on Barrett though. Depends on what each one would cost obviously.

Questions about Barrett & Fowler. Who's been more durable & consistent in terms of production. Frankly I'd take either. Can't have the ends be the only rushers though, that 3-tech gotta get some push too. I think with the influx of cap space were gonna have plus Reed's suspension is gonna make it easier to re-sign both him & Clowney as well as add another veteran pass rusher I think is very doable. This team needs it in the worst way. Add D-Line in FA then go secondary & O-Line in draft. At least that's how it's shaping up at this point.
