Somebody probably posted this somewhere already, but this is a pretty good highlight video somebody put together on Raley last season. Big dude:

I was kinda watching who he got his HR off of:
Kikuchi was the only Lefty I spotted
But
I also spotted Kirby, Walker, and Kyle Bradish among the more notable pitchers.

Raley is the hill I am dying on this season. 2nd highest position player WAR behind Julio.

His second half matching his first few stints have me nervous, but at least he's not 5'8" and reliant on singles and stolen bases like a Mallex Smith, and you're right, the injuries could have played a role.

The thing about Raley is he isn't the one dimensional 1B/DH type that we'd expect from his bat, so at least he has a better chance of being useful even if he does have a sub-.800 OPS.

Although that sounds an awful lot like Domingo Santana, who had a .770 OPS in his season with us as a 26 year old. Raley's defense looks a lot better than Domingo did, hopefully he puts it all together this season.

Santana was 6'5" and 220 pounds also.

He played for us 5 years ago and he's still only 2 years older than Raley at this point.

I don't think Santana did bad with us, I liked him a lot because of the upside, same as Raley, he just played terrible defense while he was here.

If Raley puts up the .770 OPS that Santana did then plays solid defense he'll be at least an average LF, with plenty of upside there.

Career numbers, Santana is two years older and has been out of MLB for three seasons:

Pretty crazy how much his defense hurt his value. The offensive numbers seem to favor Santana, his defense killed him.
