I have to give them credit. I'd usually take that same opinion but they did the same thing prior to the Haniger deal and it happened like 45 minutes after the tweets.
It seems wherever they're hearing it from that there's credibility that at least something is afoot.

Yeah I was unaware of that. It has now been hours. We shall see if they are right again....Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 9:31 pmI have to give them credit. Rumors on a Cubs board about Ms/Cubs/White Sox 3 way trade
Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!
"rumors" lol General rule of thumb. If it isn't a national writer posting its a done deal or at least close to done deal it is complete BS as it was this time.Southpaw773 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 29, 2024 10:36 pmRumors on a Cubs board about Ms/Cubs/White Sox 3 way trade

I was going to post a Julio for Flexen straight up M's White Sox trade with Cash going to the White Sox to help pay Julio's salary. I swear 54% of those dopes would have believed it! lol

Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League thread!
Some Cubs players that would be good gets:
Nico Hoerner 2B/SS
Ian Happ LF
Seiya Suzuki RF
Julian Merryweather RHRP
I don't think they would trade Nico Hoerner, but they might. Despite the 5 win season, he's more of a good all-around player than he is an offensive powerhouse, and he doesn't hit the ball real hard.
Happ is more of an interchangeable part. I could them moving him, but I don't see the M's taking on that salary.
Seiya makes a bit more sense though salary is still an issue. But he hits the ball really hard, which the M's like, and there's the Japanese thing which could play into it from the M's side.
Merryweather would be a great piece. I know we've talked about him before. I honestly had no idea the guy existed until someone on here brought him up a few weeks ago.
The Cubs have some other relievers that could also be of interest. If the rumor is actually a real thing, it might be that the M's part of it is dealing more in secondary pieces, which would point more towards relievers.
