Well , he hit Trump's head so i'd say he was a pretty good shot. To qualify in the Army you have to hit a human sized target at a similar distance. A headshot is a much smaller target.

What is currently being reported about the shooter is:

Donated $15 to a liberal campaign group on the day Biden was sworn in at age 17 in 2020.

8 months later, when legally able to vote, registered as a Republican in 2021 and voted in the 2022 primaries.

Law enforcement say he used an AR-style weapon that was purchased by his father 6 months ago.

Was wearing camo pants and a grey "Demolition Ranch" t-shirt during the failed assassination attempt. Demolition Ranch is a YouTube channel devoted to the display of shooting a wide variety of guns, but mostly sticking to military grade weapons. They are very pro 2nd Amendment.

The New York Post interviewed former student peers of the shooter who described him as a "loner who was relentlessly bullied." He apparently had a thing for wearing hunting outfits to school and was into guns.

I wonder if there are counter-measures in place for drone attacks at these types of events. It would seem to me there are enough terrorists and foreign operatives from China/Iran/etc. in this country now to pull it off quite easily.
