I always said Ty France had to go. You aren't remembering my posts accurately. And Garver has turned it around after Brown left. You don't need to have 9 All Stars. This team has Robles, Rodriguez, Raleigh, Raley and Arozarena all posting at least 110 wRC+. That's a great base for the lineup. You have an elite rotation only getting better. The bullpen needs to be fixed as Munoz is unreliable at closer and they don't have any lefties if you let Sauce walk which I've asked for since last season. He's a junk baller. Is Speier returning healthy?

You guys all want to make all these moves to upgrade at every spot. It's not realistic. At some point you have to give guys some rope, look at the circumstances of why a player who had success elsewhere has struggled, or put faith in a young player and his talents to go out and do his thing.

I take heart in Dipoto and I think alike. He certainly doesn't manage the way bpj or seattle or bust would so that's outstanding.

Here's the thing: M's have a 4-game lead in the division and they aren't even hitting well. Guys like Julio, Mitches, Canzone, Polanco and Raleigh aren't at their career norms in OPS. I think you can afford to wait for half of them (even pessimistically) to come around. And if the other half don't, you already have Bliss and Raley ready to step in.
I like Bliss at 2b. His baserunning is outstanding. The way he can put the heat on the opponent at the bottom of the order before things flip to Crawford, Rojas and Julio is going to be great in the postseason.
I don't see the point of giving away a bunch of young talent, talent that we need for 25 and beyond to really improve 3b, rf, 2b, 1b and dh, for some rental bat that may or may not be better than France, Raley or Garver.

Honestly, I think it's more important for the M's to coach up Julio, Raleigh and France, guys that aren't ever leaving the lineup, than it is to go buy a bat with coveted young players. You couple improvement from those 3 with the likes of Bliss, Raley and Garver making some big impacts, and you've got a quality offense. And we're already seeing Raley do his thing. Rojas is steady. We don't need to worry about 3b right now. That just leaves Crawford, Canzone and Hanny and I'm confident that the first and latter will be good in clutch moments when we need them to be. They're just too experienced and work too hard.

So many times teams overpay at the deadline with prospect capital for a player they think is going to push them over the top and so many times it really ends up doing more damage than it solves.

I hope Dipoto passes. Stick to the same strategy. Win 54 percent for 10 years. Be about the long term not just short term."

1. You did advocate for them sticking with Ty France.
2. You did advocate for sticking with Haniger b/c "they're too experienced and work too hard."
3. You did claim that Garver would improve and make some "big impacts."

I'm probably in the minority, but I think that with the starting rotation we have, it's time to stop worrying about how highly ranked our farm system is. Its' time to start trading prospects for PROVEN major league starters to fill the positions where we need upgrades (basically the whole infield and DH, although another year of JP and Polanco likely wouldn't kill us) This whole idea that we can fill spots with Locklear, Bliss etc. and hope for the best is ridiculous. The reality is that in 4-5 years the entire starting rotation will likely be playing for other teams and the M's will likely suck (although they will be selling sucking as a "step-back) I'm not looking forward to that, but can certainly live with it if we've seen a WS by then. No one in the farm should be considered untradeable- If you get quality for them and they become a star somewhere else, then so be it. That's what's known as a "fair trade." Hell, a few years ago there were lots of M's fans convinced Kelenic was untradeable since he was going to be a star. Go out and get the proven players we need NOW and quit worrying about the state of the farm.

There's not many clear Juan Soto, Nolan Arenado, Mookie Betts types in their primes, with multiple years of control, who are conceivably on the market. The M's have missed some opportunities over the last few years to do what you're talking about.

Rooker is probably the one name who fits this billing but will the A's sell him? And to the M's?

Luis Robert will be traded... but do you trust that '24 was a fluke?

How would the Red Sox acquire Gilbert, though? Well, there was one noticeable omission from Crowley's roster: Rookie of the Year candidate Wilyer Abreu. Boston would presumably send the lefty slugger and other young players back to Seattle in the deal.
