You realize he's got to be signed at $5+ million right? No way he'll sign with the M's if he's non-tendered.You realize they sent a 27 year old that they spent $5 million on to AAA and let him rot there? He wasn't even good in AAA. Use your brain bro. Dipoto isn't THAT stupid.
You stated that the M's had all the talent "in house" to turn around their offense. You highlighted Ty France specifically who the M's later DFA'd. He then went on to post an 85 OPS+ in Cinci, worse than the trash he provided in Seattle. You said Haniger and Garver would turn it around

They then went out and signed Robles who hung a 155 OPS+... traded for Turner and Arozarena who put up 128 and 118 OPS+ and helped the offense have its best month in September.
You really wanna go the "your takes about Brash are not educated" after all that?
I'll bet my damned house that they will def NOT turn Brash into a starter. Holy fuck... your takes r insane.
I always said Ty France had to go. You aren't remembering my posts accurately. And Garver has turned it around after Brown left. You don't need to have 9 All Stars. This team has Robles, Rodriguez, Raleigh, Raley and Arozarena all posting at least 110 wRC+. That's a great base for the lineup. You have an elite rotation only getting better. The bullpen needs to be fixed as Munoz is unreliable at closer and they don't have any lefties if you let Sauce walk which I've asked for since last season. He's a junk baller. Is Speier returning healthy?
You guys all want to make all these moves to upgrade at every spot. It's not realistic. At some point you have to give guys some rope, look at the circumstances of why a player who had success elsewhere has struggled, or put faith in a young player and his talents to go out and do his thing.
I take heart in Dipoto and I think alike. He certainly doesn't manage the way bpj or seattle or bust would so that's outstanding.
"DONT MAKE ANY MOVES FOR BATS. BUY ONE GOOD BULLPEN PIECE.
Here's the thing: M's have a 4-game lead in the division and they aren't even hitting well. Guys like Julio, Mitches, Canzone, Polanco and Raleigh aren't at their career norms in OPS. I think you can afford to wait for half of them (even pessimistically) to come around. And if the other half don't, you already have Bliss and Raley ready to step in.
I like Bliss at 2b. His baserunning is outstanding. The way he can put the heat on the opponent at the bottom of the order before things flip to Crawford, Rojas and Julio is going to be great in the postseason.
I don't see the point of giving away a bunch of young talent, talent that we need for 25 and beyond to really improve 3b, rf, 2b, 1b and dh, for some rental bat that may or may not be better than France, Raley or Garver.
Honestly, I think it's more important for the M's to coach up Julio, Raleigh and France, guys that aren't ever leaving the lineup, than it is to go buy a bat with coveted young players. You couple improvement from those 3 with the likes of Bliss, Raley and Garver making some big impacts, and you've got a quality offense. And we're already seeing Raley do his thing. Rojas is steady. We don't need to worry about 3b right now. That just leaves Crawford, Canzone and Hanny and I'm confident that the first and latter will be good in clutch moments when we need them to be. They're just too experienced and work too hard.
So many times teams overpay at the deadline with prospect capital for a player they think is going to push them over the top and so many times it really ends up doing more damage than it solves.
I hope Dipoto passes. Stick to the same strategy. Win 54 percent for 10 years. Be about the long term not just short term."
This post is forever burned into my brain for how insane it is.
1. You did advocate for them sticking with Ty France.
2. You did advocate for sticking with Haniger b/c "they're too experienced and work too hard."
3. You did claim that Garver would improve and make some "big impacts."
All under the guise that the M's should not add talent at the deadline.
I know what I read.
