Metcalf
Metcalf
This probably won’t be well received but I would trade DK in a heartbeat for an impact offensive lineman. Why? Because even with his immense athleticism he has poor hands and mediocre football instincts at best. Great receivers rarely fumble, make most of the difficult catches in traffic, know to drag their feet and adjust routes We are not going to get much better offensively without SIGNIFICANT improvement in the O Line. Assuming we could get a quality lineman I could live with Bobo in the short term. He’s no burner but he gets open and catches in traffic.
Re: Metcalf
I'm also disappointed that DK doesn't seem to make the most of his athleticism. I've seen him drag his feet to say in bounds several times, but other aspects of a great receiver are missing. He has great open field speed, obvious, but I don't see him doing the kinds of quick moves to separate himself from defenders. You don't need world class speed to do that.
I wish we had Metcalf's body with Tyler Locket's brain and soul. Thank you.

Re: Metcalf
Metcalf aside, I remember my dad, a Hall of Fame football coach in Washington, telling me in the 60’s that the team that controls the yard on either side of the line of scrimmage usually wins the game. Not rocket science but an apt description of the Hawks right now

Re: Metcalf
If you could find a team willing I would trade DK too. I doubt they will pay him another big contract anyway.
Social media "experts" today are saying the second Geno pick was on DK.
Brock Huard is not disagreeing with this. In this last game DK grabbed an assistant coaches headset and
started screaming into it, presumably to Grubb. IMO, DK is in Geno's head and Geno isn't a strong enough
leader to deal with that. On that second pick, why is Geno throwing to DK anyway when he's running a sloppy
route? JSN is open while obviously running the correct route. Tyler is streaking down the sideline.
If Pete were still coach, this might not be as big a deal, but when have a young coach and the team
is struggling, you can't have a cancer that also isn't producing.
