Also, don't put it past Seattle to sign Justin Fields.
If you're looking for the next Mayfield/Darnold type he's got to lead the pack.
He's a free agent... can likely be had on a cheapish deal.

I always want to see this team make the playoffs and am very disappointed.
Adding to that disappointment is that every rookie QB in the league this season (although we need to see how Michael Penix does in the last two games) was way better than Geno, even Bo Nix.

Caleb Williams?

I do not want a QB that would take herself out of the game in the second half of a bowl game in his last year of college.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 6:02 amI know there aren’t many projections yet, but where is Cam Ward supposed to go? I’m not sure he’s not better than Caleb Williams. I mean, had he played at USC when Williams did, how would he have looked? Seems very one was real high on him until Miami hit a bit of a speed bump?Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 4:37 amYou're going to get a franchise QB with the 18th pick in the draft?
All I hear is that this is a down year for QB, so that is scary. But there are some guys that can be better than Geno in the tight system, right? Sure, not next year…but does it matter if we go 7 and 10 instead of 9 and 8?

I would be mildly enthusiastic about Justin Fields. I've always liked duel threat QBs.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 7:36 amAlso, don't put it past Seattle to sign Justin Fields.

There is no fucking way Grubb would still be the OC if you made this move.

I would rather they cut loose the overpaid trash (No-good Fant and Drainmont Jones) and cut/re-structure Lockett and use that money to upgrade the o line. I'd like to see what Geno (and the RBs) can do with an average or better line before cutting him loose or letting him walk.

Don't you think if they were to draft RW this off season, that is adding that player to this team it could do better than 9-8?Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 6:02 amI know there aren’t many projections yet, but where is Cam Ward supposed to go? I'm betting we have Geno again next season without much of an upgrade to the oline. The line could be better but not because of a change in approach by JS. The money is going to continue to flow to the defense.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 6:22 pmI would rather they cut loose the overpaid trash (No-good Fant and Drainmont Jones) and cut/re-structure Lockett and use that money to upgrade the o line. Has there ever been more compelling evidence for the impact offensive lines have on the run game?
27 year old Barkley...
30 year old Henry...

Unless he's just hopelessly stubborn i think this season has been a wake-up call for Snider that scrap-heap FAs and project draft picks aren't going to cut it and that he is wasting the talents of his skill position players.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 6:38 pmI'm betting we have Geno again next season without much of an upgrade to the oline. I hope anyway.
