Conspiracy theory

Post by Michael K. » Sun Jan 05, 2025 6:33 pm

I'm sorry if this was mentioned last night or today, but did anyone see the three straight plays in the Steelers game last night were the refs game Pitt a first down, only to have it overturned?

Fakeman and Fuck just laughed about it, but what the Hell? Gained 9 on 2nd down, was spotted as a first down...over turned. Stuffed on back to back plays on both 3rd and 4th down, but the refs spotted both as 1sts before over turning.

I don't know what the NFL would have have to gain by keeping the Bengals out and improving the Steelers seed, but if nothing else that's a real bad look. And again, those chuckle heads Aikman and Buck just laughed. If that has happened in a LOB game? Both of those guys would have called for public executions of the officials.

Sure looked like a case where the officials went in thinking a Steelers win is beneficial. Real bad look, IMO. And I am not usually one of those guys saying the games are fixed.

If the NFL was behind it wouldn't the replay officials have been involved too? I could see it being a case of a ref or crew chief of the ilk of a Bill Leavy acting on their own, but a conspiracy by the league just isn't very plausible.

I watched some, but not all of that game. My takeaway was Russell Wilson's comeback was short-lived.
He's washed. RW and Geno are basically the same guy. The Steelers are going nowhere in the playoffs.

Referees in the NFL are terrible.

The wrath seems to be aimed at Pickens
George Pickens endured perhaps his worst game as a pro at the worst possible time. The third-year wide receiver caught just one pass for zero yards and was credited with a handful of drops, an uncharacteristically sloppy performance for a player who — for all the headaches he can create with his petulance — is as competitive and physically gifted as anyone at his position in the league
Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7) are headed into the playoffs on a four-game losing streak, and all eyes are on wideout George Pickens, who has struggled mightily in the final few weeks of the regular season
