A way too early Mock
I guess my dream of Cam Ward is a pipe one...if this guy is correct. I sure hope he is wrong though, because he has us using our first pick on a WR!

The best back in the game goes right after us, and I don't see how we could take either one.

I like this pick much better in a mock 1st Round:

18. Seattle Seahawks: OT Josh Simmons, Ohio State
A talent worthy of being selected much higher than this spot, Simmons will be working his way back from injury which could halt his momentum. Seattle has aging veterans entering free agency and getting a talent like Simmons this late would be an immediate steal for the Seahawks, as long as he can return to his elite form once healthy at the NFL level.

They will need a WR. Terms of Cam Ward, that seems kinda amazing. To go from a late day two to number one overall? Seems reasonable to Project him to 18
Teams had a late Day 2/Day 3 grade on him over the summer

I saw a mock that had Ward going at #1Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 12:09 pmThey will need a WR. Terms of Cam Ward, that seems kinda amazing. To go from a late day two to number one overall? Seems reasonable to Project him to 18Teams had a late Day 2/Day 3 grade on him over the summer

Early in the season he was the Darling of College Football. Miami hit a rough patch and his buzz wore off. I bet if his coach's name was Prime, and his last name was Sanders? The Buzz would have continued. The kid had a great year. And he was exceptional last year too.

Geno had some really impressive numbers in college too. Just saying...

I am just trying to wrap my head around the concept of somebody in the United States having a child in the year 2004 and deciding to name them Jihaad.

So did Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold. Both guys ended up being pretty good even after being written off by their original teams. But I agree, Geno is probably a pretty good comp. If his decision making skills are similar to Geno's? Then ick.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 3:52 pmGeno had some really impressive numbers in college too. Just saying...
But? Their #s are eerily similar!
Ward's per game average throughout his career
25 of 38 (66%) for 297 yards with 2.3 TDs and 0.6 INTs.
Geno's per game average throughout his career
22.5 of 33 (68%) for 265 yards with 2.2 TDs and 0.5 INTs.
Final seasons?
Ward was 305 of 454 (67.2%) with 4,313 yards 39 TDs and 7 INTs in 13 games
Geno was 369 of 518 (71.2%) with 4,205 yards 42 TDs and 6 INTs in 13 games
Good Lord. I remember Geno putting up numbers. But my God. Ward had better rushing numbers, but QB rushing yards are so subjective in college since they remove sacks from QB rushing, and it wasn't a significant difference.

I take it Geno took a lot more sacks than Cam?Good Lord. I remember Geno putting up numbers. But my God. Ward had better rushing numbers, but QB rushing yards are so subjective in college since they remove sacks from QB rushing, and it wasn't a significant difference.

He had 64 more attempts, so I would assume. But I didn't actually dig in. I just usually don't put a lot of stock in QB rushing yards. I've watched Cam, and I believe his mobility is a plus...but I don't remember watching a ton of Geno.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 4:24 pmI take it Geno took a lot more sacks than Cam?Good Lord.
