All-pro guard Joe Thuney was traded to the Bears for a 2026 4th round pick today. Like DK he is in the final year of his contract so that might indicate what kind of return we should expect for him.
Why? One is an All Pro O Lineman and the other had as many catches as Zach Ertz and yards and TDs as Darnell Mooney!

I should not be surprised this happened, yet I am surprised.
We all know DK can be childish, but to my knowledge he was a good locker room guy and liked the Seahawks org.
Most of us hoped he could be more than he accomplished here, but his numbers were still good.
I felt a large part of his value was as a decoy and a physical presence. He was mostly healthy. I don't see the team
being better without him - even if we do get draft pick(s). (I don't think we will get a 1st for him, but hopefully I'm wrong.)

Brock and Salk seem to think this can get parlayed into a net gain. They also think it's a shot at Geno.

There seemed to be many times that DK and Geno weren't on the same page. It's just not all that often that the QB is the one that is wrong. Who knows. I am far from a Geno supporter, but I sure don't think DK did him any favors. And this notion that he is open when he isn't? I'm so tired of listening to Dave Wyman say shit like that. Is he big and fast? Hell yes, but does he do everything it takes to get open? Does he win the 50 50 balls? Shit, how about the fumbles, the penalties, the outbursts on the sidelines? I don't give a shit if you look like a Pro Wrestler and took your shirt off at the draft. How do you play football?

I agree with most of what you said and I still think he was a net positive for the team and I'm worried about the Seahawk without him.

710 went to the Mariniers yesterday so I flipped to KJR. Hugh Millen loves DK. He thinks the Seahawks and Geno totally screwed the
pooch in using him. Millen says DK is open and Geno doesn't send it when he's supposed to etc. Millen pointed out that Troy Aikmen would
always wonder out loud when doing a Seahawks game why they don't go long to DK at least once every quarter.

It makes sense that DK thinks that too and that's why he want's to try the grass on the other side of the fence.

I'm not sure which is more ridiculous, the notion that DK is worth a 1st and 3rd or that DK thinks he is worth $30 mil per. Of course, all it takes is one idiot GM.

With his signing bonus he is almost getting 30 million this year. Cap number is 32 million, but salary and signing bonus almost 29 million.

Overthecap evaluated his 2024 season as being worth $13,325,000. Spotrac estimates his current market value at $26,095,235 though, so who knows. He'll probably get his $30M.

What helps us as Hawk fans is Higgins getting re-signed and it just being a VERY pedestrian free agent year for receivers (yes i used the P word, ADB). The best of the lot are all OLD and banged up and overpaid - Kupp, Godwin, Diggs, Hopkins, Kirk. I would put only Davante Adams ahead of DK on the desireability scale, and being older he wouldnt fit the plans of as many teams either. Despite the underwhelming stats, the one thing DK can do consistently far better than anyone available is put the holy terror in the minds of opposing DCs for his deep threat, requiring special game planning every week. That rarity is what i'm hoping most in for a solid draft capital return.
