Well, now we know this team isn't going to another SB but at least we've got the White Sambros...

Hard to say how much the O-Line influences things either way but with Sam being 7 years younger Its a pretty easy argument that the Hawks aren't going to be any worse at QB with Sam then they would have been with Geno. Seems like an affordable deal too which means more cap room to fix that O-Line. I still hope they take a look at another QB in the draft though like they did back when they signed Matt Flynn.

This is probably the best way to look at it.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 7:15 pmHard to say how much the O-Line influences things either way but with Sam being 7 years younger Its a pretty easy argument that the Hawks aren't going to be any worse at QB with Sam then they would have been with Geno. I really wanted a more mobile QB though.

Oh man, we haven't had a Caucasian QB since, well, Hasselbeck. Hope this works.

Reported 3 years 100.5 not 110.5.
If geno signes for 40 million We save 6.5 million per year. If it is for 45 million per (which I don't think so) it would be 11 million savings per year.

Re: Darnold Signs with Seattle
Oh man, I love this. Seattle immediately addresses the starting QB position, gets younger and cheaper, and in no way does this prevent them from grabbing someone in the mid rounds. Darnold will be a game manager as the team leans on the defense to keep games close (sound familiar?) and winnable while the offense finds it’s identity and replenishes the WR/int oline/TE rooms. This is not a sexy splashy move but it is a smart move - now they have more options with the draft and FE.
