OT D train's epic road trip
OT D train's epic road trip
I have decided to retire early and we are going on a year long RV trip around the country leaving May 6th going up the California and Oregon coast then visit my parents in Lynnwood in late June. Then head east to Yellow stone then right through the middle of the country hitting Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky in the fall and then to the mid Atlantic states to the Coast. Then head south to Key West for winter. Then head back west to spend entire Spring Training in AZ. Should be quite the adventure!
I bought this trailer on Thursday and the Ford F250 yesterday. And that is my itinerary from early May to late June.

Giant roadtrips always make me think of Steinbeck's "Travels with Charley,". It's about a real trip he took around the country with his dog, in a truck rigged up as a camper.
His passages about the lust people have for hitting the road are my favorites.
"I saw in their eyes something I was to see over and over in every part of the nation- a burning desire to go, to move, to get under way, anyplace, away from any 'Here'. They spoke quietly of how they wanted to go someday, to move about, free and unanchored, not toward something but away from something. I saw this look and heard this yearning everywhere in every states I visited. Nearly every American hungers to move."
His vehicle, "Rocinante:"
