If a 3.61 ERA w. a 3.91 FIP is bad... then I guess he was bad.
His ERA+ was 100 last year. He was mediocre and seems to be getting worse all the time.
I think ERA+ and OPS+ is a flawed metric.

They give M's hitters way too much credit for sucking at T-Mobile and conversely hurt M's pitchers.

Castillo's season last year wasn't that great, it happens. It doesn't mean he's in decline, there could been health issues. He went on the dl with a bad Hammie

How did Castillo go from pitching like an ace when they traded for him to pitching like a BOR type starter in 3 years?
All I know is he should have had a faster hook after the third and fourth inning
Have to eat up a lot of the bullpen but yess would have yanked him after we regained the lead again. Have a few guys who can do multiple innings.

Yea well they should. We need someone who can do that. Snider has gone 2 innings plenty!!

Santos looks really bad this year. Just not a good showing!!!

Wtf has gotten into Santos wasent good last year when he pitched either!!! Just not looking good for this team and kills the bullpen!!! In a rhythm and he blows it. Well this game was over anyways!

Luckily only 2 runs so pen doesn't take too big of a hit. 8 runs though with basically 2 guys doing most of the damage Lux had a perfect night at the dish. Must be nice to drive runners in. Well unless big miracle in the 9th here streak is over back under 500

Just like that Reds bullpen is lethal they have a lead they knock it down!!!! Horrible loss!!! Only Moore showed up today. Without him it was all shutout. Getting chewed up on both side tonight. Need to get right tomorrow.

I saw somewhere that a "mystery team" oooooohh.....tried to get the Mariners to trade Castillo recently whilst they had a bad start for a hitting infielder.

The only "mystery" to me is why didn't the Mariners jump at that?!?!

Castillo like all aging starting pitchers has lost velocity to that fastball. His secondary stuff is just not controllable.
His pitch count goes up and he reverts back to his fastball which gets tagged all of the freakin place near the 5th inning of every game.
His chronic "condition" started early in this game. They got to him around the 3rd inning for Christ sake.

Dilly had a great game. The problem is he is the only one contributing to the offense.
Normally with solid pitching 4 runs is enough for us to win. However Castihole lost his shit.

Reds are playing good baseball as of late and this series is NOT going to be easy.
Julio Rodriguez needs to pull his head from his ass and stop worrying about how good he looks in a hoodie at the plate.

Garver is a freakin black hole.
Solano is a freakin black hole.

Polanco is old man hurt.
We are again stuck with rookies and AAAA journeymen with a couple of underperforming stars. Thanks a lot ownership and Jerry for another crappy team with brief moments of normalcy.

Basball Savant has a ton of data but what do you make of these...
