Yeah they aren't going to take a guy with those K rates as a #3 pick. Even Jerry isn't that dumb.
Really?? Your questioning the intelligence of the 54%guy?

Cole Young went 0-8 in a double header and is now at .203/.589 Yikes

Emerson went 0-4 and now at .240/.716 yet people think he is the Next George Brett. I don't get it. Now at least 121 PA HR drought.

Ford has picked it up a bit but still no HRs out of any of those three. He is at .238/.673 so meh in a hitters league but I guess he is coming up in June. lol

Do I need to remind you when you were making a similar post about Montez last year after his first month in Everett?
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

Maybe he is, Brett really wasn't anything that special until charlie lau got a hold of him. Brett's last full season in the minors.284 /.356 /.403 /.758 with eight home runs.
Charlie (Lau) made me a hitter. My rookie year I was hitting around .200 when he started working with me. All of a sudden, I started to hit

If I was him I would go to college. He obviously doesn't need money and the college experience, education and the college girls seem better than riding buses in the minors and playing in front of 757 fans for years....
That is a big choice. If he gets hurt? On the other hand, he will obviously get a full ride, probable NIL, and whatever allowance he gets from daddy, side hustles, etc. I bet he would have a pretty posh lifestyle on campus. Vs 8.5 M in pick #3 slot value? I don't see how you could say you were wrong for choosing either path.
Daddy made $160 million. He isn't worried about money. Injury risk is actually greater in the minors because of many many more games.
But our # 3 pick would be 8.5M and in Washington state there is no state income tax so he would get the max fed rate of 37%. 5.355 M would be his take home at age 18? That is enough to live comfortably with at least a little restraint and investing. My point was If I was in his shoes I would be thinking about a number that I would not go under as far as slot bonus that I would stick to. And his dad made 160 million and that does not guarantee that he will even make the show let alone have those levels of success.

Yeah, Hollidays feature is power, does it really matter where your your power guy plays? Vlad just got a $500 mil contract playing first base
Sure. But my point was simply that I expect him to fall in the rankings a bit more than he has so far. With his brother, it was the combination of the bat really breaking out in his senior year AND the promise of being able to play shortstop that pushed him to the #1 overall pick. And I'm not hearing or reading anything like that with Ethan. It could still come though.
Thinking about Spencer Torkelson, the first corner infielder to be taken number one overall in 20 years. And that was based on his power. I have no idea how they might compare, though Spenser did go to college.

Spenser had been struggling but it sure looks like he's broken out this season, 288 /.392 /.638/ 1.029 with seven home runs. That's really interesting to me, he was getting written off as being on the scrap heap last season. What a pickup that would have been. I think the forum is pretty cynical terms of breakouts

A proposed trade for Spenser from sodomojo over the off season, Tyler Gough and Dylan Wilson. How crazy would that have been. This stuff just fascinates me. Torkelson is the same age as JK isn't he, 25?

If he had been available, would have obviously been a good idea at this point. When a player doesn't end up getting traded though, have to question how available they really were.

I wasn't too worried about Montes because he had a track record that Emerson and Young do not have.
