I don't think anyone was comparing them beyond that they were both college QBs with elite athletic abilities. My initial post on the subject was a reaction to people suggesting that Milroe should be used to run special plays in certain situations based on his running ability.

I wasn't talking about here, I meant the football writers. I didn't know who Hill was until this came up. Yeah, perhaps Milroe could be a Hill type player but Hill was never going to be a Milroe type player. Hill is picked up on waivers and put on special teams, that's because he was never going to be a NFL QB, backup at best. Milroe on the other hand has the possibility of being a premier NFL QB, that's because Milroe has an arm. Lamar Jackson is a reasonable comp to Milroe for much of the same reasons Hill is a comp, with the addition of an arm. So if you have the Jackson comp why bother with the Hill comp? They aren't going to try making Milroe another Hill, they are going to try and make him another Jackson. I think it seemed cute to the writers, Hill, the saints, kubiak and all that, but Jackson is the target, not Hill, and that takes concentrating on QB skills, not gadget skills

Kinda interesting, Elijah Arroyo as a Metcalf replacement

"Arroyo's size, speed and route-running ability led new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to wonder aloud during predraft meetings whether he could essentially take over as Seattle's X receiver after DK Metcalf was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason," Henderson wrote

"This guy can run an extensive route tree," Macdonald said, per Henderson. "To have to account for a tight end body on the field and him also to be able to split out wide, do X receiver type of things, bigger body than we probably have right now on our roster, just provides a ton of value. And then he's going to throw it in there as an actual tight end in line and be able to kind of create some of those bigger personnel formations is the vision that we have for him. So it's really exciting."

That makes zero sense to me. Metcalf was a mediocre route runner that could fly. The two are not alike. Playing the same position? Maybe, but you are using the word “replace” only in the sense that they play the same position sometimes. Wilson replaced Flynn….but would anyone compare the way those two play?

I'm not using the word, Brady Henderson is using it in regards to what he says he learned about how they could use Arroyo. They are talking about using him as the X receiver aren't they.

What's wrong with using him mainly as a receiving TE? Fant hasn't impressed me in that department. Sure, the Seahawks now lack a big, athletic WR, but that was the case for the 43 years of Seahawks history prior to drafting DK.

Think it has to do with the offense, kubiak is known for using multiple tight end formations. You want to create mismatchs and whatever with different formations and motion. Remember this quote from before, that would include the tight ends

Kupp on him, JSN both being slot WRs: "What Kubiak has done is being able to formation guys to be anywhere... you can't think of yourself as just a slot, you have to see yourself as playing any one of these positions at any time because you could be asked to run any one of these routes."

Was going to say it's how graham was used, I don't know how much Seattle did. But looking at it, doesn't seem that unusual. There's a number of TEs now that play slot and wide.

We might see three TEs on the field for some plays then if they put Arroyo out wide and have Ouzts in as a fullback.
