Laz scores from 1st on a ball that doesn't even come close to the warning track.

Yet they say he is slow and can’t play OF, of course they used to say Julio was slow and stuck in the COF spot

Lao was a dodgers prospect, who was an infielder. He converted to pitching 3 years ago, and has done OK, but pretty much all in relief. He’s got something going right for him right now. He’s slowly working up and I think yesterday was his first time over 3 innings. It will be interesting to see where he progresses.
Lao made his debut in Boston then was promptly DFA'd and nobody claimed him. Unreal that Dipoto was able to skate him thru waivers esp. given status of teams like COL and BAL. Nevertheless, he's back in Tacoma and he delivered 4 perfect innings last night. Kid has good stuff.

I'm afraid Jerry will limp into the trade deadline where it's an all out bidding war and do something low key. He has the resources to be proactive and beat some of those teams to the punch . . . those same teams willing to consistently outbid us. But as they say, "The check is in the mail".
I'm not afraid. What amazing trade piece is out there that is really worth dealing 7 yrs of control of Ford, Young, Emerson, Montes. et al? I don't want to be where the Padres are now watching Wood, Gore, Abrams and Hassell all up in WAS doing their things. Now, they did that for 2.5 yrs of Soto then spun him for King and a few others so they weren't completely left high and dry. I don't see anyone who may be on the trade market that would command a package like that. Also, I really think the M's have the in-house pieces to really fill all of their holes except for possibly 1B depending on how Raley returns.

3b? Move Polanco there
2b? Cole Young
dh? Harry Ford
rf? Victor Robles

I like the bullpen. If Legs starts to falter, you have Lao, Kowar and hopefully an improved Troy Taylor in the wings. We're fine.
The rotation does need to pick things up. Right now Woo, Castillo and Hancock are all fairly solid and Woo has been dominant at times. Can we get Kirby to an ace level? Will Gilbert return healthy? Miller? There's room to IL Miller for a lengthy stint with way Hancock is going. Lao is an option here, too, if you want to go 6 and Evans starts to drop off.

There's also options in AAA to improve the bench. As another poster pointed out, Samad Taylor is lighting it up in Tacoma. He's better than Mastro and Solano and Rivas. Bring him up.

I would like to see us go after O'Hearn for DH and outfield. Still think we need a left handed power reliever. I'm good with the Tacoma moves.

I know Cole young has been hot, but since 5/3, he’s hitting.385, and he has 5 HR and has 11 BB to just 6 Ks in 92 PA.

.385/.489/.630/1.119

when do we think Ford and Young get the call? I'm going to go with June 17 for both. Think they get called up together

The Mariners placed five prospects on Keith Law's updated Top 50 list: Colt Emerson (No. 6), Felnin Celesten (21), Cole Young (36), Ryan Sloan (41) and Jonny Farmelo (49):

If only there was a AAAA World series the Mariners would win it every year.
