I'm at the point where i just want to fast-forward through Julio's ABs because he has the worst approach I've ever seen. He's probably already shattered the MLB record for the most inside fastballs swung at this season and even struck out on one that hit him yesterday.

The amazing thing is that despite this, he can put up over a.750 OPS in his sleep. Imagine what he could do if he wasn't such a complete idiot.

Everything you need to know about Julio:

2 outs, RISP: .174/.294/.276/.570... 2x XBH's in 35 AB's.

2024: .262/.340/.333/.674

2023: .319/.410/.542/.910

2022: .288/.393/.500/.893

He has become a mental midget in front of our very eyes.

2 years of .900 OPSand then slightly below average for 1 year and then fk all. It is just 35 ABs.

I think JD needs to do something.

I think pulling over a short time set-up guy and a bat would go a long way.

A few weeks ago we were in the 90's% for making the playoffs and now it is like 50-50

I stopped caring a long time ago after decades a fan.

When you think about it, most of the guys on this team are financially set for life in their late 20s, playing freaking baseball.

And It matters not what the team does.

So who the hell cares?
Yep, just a job. Didn't J Rod say that when they asked him about SS and if he worried about his manager's job. "I just work here" was basically what he said?

I actually thought about this today. I am in Sales, and a big part of just about every sales job is commission. Do you think that is because business owners just can't wait to share in their profits? Or do you think owners realize a sales man is going to be motivated to make more money by selling their product?

Baseball owners are fucking idiots. The way the contract is structured should be like a comp plan for a Sales Man. There is a minimum bar for you to even make base salary. Set it at a specific batting average, and maybe for middle of the order bats? Set a Slugging #, for top of the order bat another for OBP%.

You are supposed to make a million a year, but never hit "quota"? Well, you don't make a million. These fuckers actually are better off losing! I mean, watch them and tell me they care if they are on vacation in October or in the playoffs? Some of them maybe, but Mariner Ownership crying about money, and looking at the way these dipshits spend it pisses me off.

Watching guys get paid to swing at pitches in the dirt and stare at strike three at the belt? It's horrendous, and I have probably watched 12 innings of Mariner Baseball all year. I have not been impressed with one single second that I watched. Seriously, not one. I turned it on last night in time to see the replay of the second of back to back HRs cut the lead to two. The three outs in that inning were disgusting. Zero fucking plan against a guy that straight up couldn't throw strikes. Swinging at 2 - 0 cookies and swinging right through them. It was brutal. Then J Rod swings at two that aren't strikes and as the go ahead run, strikes out for out three.

I can't possibly see any actual baseball fan taking any enjoyment from watching the way these guys play. I don't care if it's Dan Wilson, Scot Servais, Connie Mack or Joe Torre managing them. You can't win with this group. It's flat out amazing they are .500. And yet? The GM, Manager and just about every underperforming player they have is set for life financially, and the worst that can happen to them is they are on a beach somewhere in October instead of working! How terrible.

They aren't making the playoffs. If I can get fifty fifty odds they don't make the playoffs I am betting that all fucking day. Not sure any smart money is taking them to make it, not without some kind of sweetener.

Consider how bizarre this organization is, what are the chances that a team that ties for the most wins in history, in 2001, would go over 20 years without being in the playoffs?

And incredibly, 2001 was the year when they had no A-Rod, Griffey, or Randy, and Buhner was over the hill.

With Dipoto this is so expected.
That’s the DiPoto way. He thinks he can save money by filling the bullpen with has-been or never-was arms and magically they will all be good. Until they aren’t…

Sometimes your own success ends up being your failure. The Seahawks had some early success in mid to late rounds in drafts, and spent the next several years trading back believe they could turn guys like Mike Tyson and Tedrick Thompsen into the next Earl and Richard. It didn't work, and the Dynasty died. These guys are arrogant as Hell. Jerry has built bullpens out of scraps a time or two, so believes he has the Midas touch.

It's been a marvel how in recent years we've picked up guys who sucked on their previous teams but pitched well for us, but this season we've picked up guys who sucked on their previous teams and now they suck for us. I'm sure that when Vargas came into the game two nights ago the D-Bags, having seen him pitch for them in 2024, started packing up their stuff because they knew the game was in the bag, albeit taking a second inning to do.

That’s a good analogy. Seahawks thought any warm body could be an offensive lineman. Mariners feel the same way about relief pitchers. And their mistaken beliefs bit both teams in the ass..
