Should Dipoto and Hollander be fired?

If the Mariners miss the playoffs (again) this year, should Dipoto and Hollander (and Dave Cameron) be fired?

Not sure it matters, unless ownership decides they care about having a contender. I think they have had a good developmental program, but they don’t have a good culture on the big league because they haven’t been able to bring any good veterans to teach a winning culture.

Yes.

The ultimate goal should be to win a Championship.

We cannot put a product on the field that gets into the playoffs to even have that chance to compete in the show.

You can have the best Skipper and if you don't have the personnel it won't work.

Imho Dipoto has done pretty well with starting pitching and building the farm.

We all know that "prospects" are just that. Some work out and many more don't.

BUT...when it comes to free agent acquisitions and trades to improve the club roster I'm sorry but Jerry is the Peter Principal.

The Angels fired him and we thought he would just move north and be a better judge of talent?

I absolutely HATE the hire of Dan Wilson. Practically nepotism. Give me a fucking break.

Jerry came out recently and said he has the "freedom" and "resources" from ownership to fix a few needs on the club at the trade deadline.

I'm not holding my breath based on his track record.

I'll be pretty surprised if the M's come out over .500 after this next road trip.

Something tells me they won't really be in a position to buy heading into the AS break.

Namely the fact that multiple, worthless players still remain on this God forsaken roster and Julio hasn't figured out how to pull his head out of his ass yet.

Agreed - its becoming painful to watch Dan coach the team... he was hired for all the 50–80-year-old fans who still reminisce about the 95 team.

Sadly - Jerry says this every trade deadline and little ever happens. I think he'll probably get 1 bat but it will be near the deadline IF Raley comes back and does nothing... Tellez will be dfa'd soon for him which is a shame as he's our only decent 1B. When he tanks then they will look at a 1B rental.

Yes. It can be simply about accountability

Mariners played well early in the season on the road, but haven't played well since that San Diego series. Losing 3/4 in Houston started the downward spiral and they have yet to recover. I agree they won't be in a position to buy heading into the AS break. By then it will be too late. If they were going to make a move it should have been after that Houston series which proved we aren't better than them yet.

Julio had so many opportunities in that Boston series. In game 1, he had that awful at bat after 2 walks swinging at pitches that were out of the strike zone.

And yes, both Dipoto and Hollander should be fired. 2 playoff wins during their tenure by the fans accountability is not acceptable. However, by ownership it maybe, which is scary.

Year 10 of Jerry's reign of terror and year 7 of the rebuild and we are under .500 and 20 games worse than the Astros in our last 160 games. Epic Fail.

June 18th, 2024 records

Seattle Mariners: 44-31
Houston Astros: 33-40

Since that day

Mariners: 78-82
Astros: 98-64

Seriously?? Heck, you could have the greatest manager in the history of baseball be the manager, and they would be in the same boat because the roster construction is/was so bad.
