The game probably rests on how many runners are on base when Hancock gives away his customary Home Run.

> 12 Games and only 4 times has he avoided a HR.
> 10 HR allowed, 7 of them to the #1, #2 and #3 hitters.
> Of the 10 HR, 7 of them were solo HRs.
> OPS of 1.090 third time through the order.
> 32.3% walk rate on the 3-2 count / 43.8% walk rate on all 3-ball counts (albeit that might include 3-0, 3-1 and 3-2 as 3 separate PAs in the formation of the stat, I believe)

The "Keys to the Game" are relatively obvious here.

So far this season, Game Threaders have had 10 x 1-and-out streaks. So chances of a second win are slim. Great to see afternoon Central/morning Pacific/Primetime UK baseball on a Saturday where it should be.

On a slightly trivial aside, when trying to follow baseball in the pre-internet era I used to love trying to get a box score from the USA today paper which we sometimes got about three days later if we went to specific newsagents/paper shops and I loved how it referred to the Cubs as Chicago-NL. A beautiful piece of traditional referencing.

Lets batter this Chicago-NL team, Go Ms.

how long have you been following baseball?...Yeah, pre-internet, I would stay with my brother in NYC, following the Mariners was like they played in another country. The scores were a day late, and that's all you got. A box with yesterdays west coast scores. Following baseball would have been a real challenge then

I loved it when I lived in Hawaii. All the games were practically over by the time I sat down for dinner.

We've had the World Series on late night TV since the 80s, I remember doing a piece in my English Language A Level in 1990 on baseball such was my fascination. But I hadn't selected a team at this point. Scores were never reported in UK papers and we didnt even have them on Ceefax (another British cult you definitely have to check out on wiki or youtube).

Looks like Emerson didn't get the memo about keeping the ball down with the wind blowing out.

When you give up back-to-backs, the next one needs to be 97 MPH and 3 inches under the batters chin.
