My rationale for using him there is there might not be a bottom of the 9th if someone else allows a run in the 8th.

It only makes sense if Munoz needs to throw from lack of innings. Otherwise you save him for the save.

The problem with that is if there isn't a save situation your best pitcher sits on the bench. Use him to get to the save
