Looks like they are going with Rocker. Lets hope we don't come up against the Heartbreak Kid and smack Marty Jannetty all over the place instead.

We faced him on his big league debut last September when he struck out 7 and only allowed 1 run, a Justin Turner home run. Rangers won 5-4. Only other meeting was back in April at T-Mobile when he was pulled in the 4th after going behind 4-1. Julio managed to hit a triple off him, one of only 8 triples in his career. Mariners won 9-2.

Go Ms

So I'm looking over an article about what's wrong with Rocker and Leiter for that matter. He throws too many strikes? Thought that was interesting, what David has brought up?
Minor league numbers suggest Rocker is an aggressive strike thrower who needs to find some nuance to keep big league bats more off balance. Among the 289 arms with at least 30 innings this year, only 10 have allowed higher hard-hit rates than Rocker.

Really, he has the opposite problems from Leiter, but they are not equally worrisome. Organizations build their pitching philosophy around breeding starters who, if they err, err toward too many strikes. The Mariners, the Twins, the Rays—they’re lousy with these guys.

WOO :!: WOO :!: WOW the Rangers, Wiff the Rangers, Whomp the Rangers and Wipe the Floor with them.
Big game today. I think the M's will take after the Rainiers game last evening and score oodles of runs today in many, many ways. Score often Mariners and score BIG!
