But the mariners are losing contact, seven games, this could be decided by the trade deadline
Nope. Astros won't keep this up. Pitching staff just isn't that good. If Brown or Framber go down, it'll show. Just need to put in the work over the next 12 games now. Really should go 10-2 no worse. TEX is not good, get Rocker and Leiter then PIT (terrible) and KC (struggling) and Yanks (struggling)
Yeah if Brown or Framber go down... they'll be bad. C'MON BRO... YOU DO NOT THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE... YA... IF KIRBY AND GILBERT GO DOWN IT'S THE EXACT FUCKIN SAME FOR US...

They have won 5 in a row, are 16 games over .500, AND HAVE GIVEN UP 4 RUNS OVER THE LAST 36 INNINGS.

BUT YA THEY'RE NOT THAT GOOD.

I REALLY FUCKIN JUST CANNOT WITH YOU.

We did not deserve this win at all. Can't believe Rangers are that bad. Mast and Solano come up huge late Moore needs off this team now!!!
what game did you watch? We had 18 hits. We left like 15 men on base. We absolutely pounded them. They got a couple lucky knocks to stay in it

Gilbert and Kirby and Miller have gone down. Framber seems to always get nicked up and Astros have a penchant for pitching injuries. That's all I'm saying

Yes, and guess what... the M's are 3 games over .500 and the Astros are 16... so yes, it impacted the Mariners... A LOT.

What you just said is that the Astros aren't good because of injuries to their pitching staff that haven't happened yet.

That. Is. Insane.

Mariners win! We're HEROES!!!

It was 99.9% predetermined that we'd lose this game and Miles and Bazardo said nope.

It is insane, but that is not what I'm saying. You're reading my post wrong and perhaps I didn't write it clearly.

My theory is that the Astros are playing over their skis. They aren't this good. They are on a heater. I don't think their pitching will continue like this and yes, I do believe more injuries to their staff will play a part in them falling back to earth. A part, not the entire reason.

Just need to keep chipping away, one game at a time. M's need to start going 9-1, 8-2 in these 10-game stretches. Schedule really opens up here so the M's have to do work or they will find themselves just a middling .500 team.

Astros at number seven now in ESPN's power rankings

The one constant in a season of change for the first-place Astros is lefty Framber Valdez. If his latest outing -- a seven-inning shutout performance versus Philadelphia -- wasn't his signature moment, that's only because he has had a few of them. Perhaps none was better than his 83-pitch complete game against the Rays in late May. He struck out nine that day then followed it up with 11- and 12-strikeout outings. But he also is successful when producing weak contact; he only whiffed three in each of his past two starts, both wins. Valdez has defined the Astros' journey to first place; they've won his past nine starts. -- Rogers
