Sherman claimed they were low balling him

This guy claims the Darnold narrative is false so who knows

Brian Nemhauser
@hawkblogger
I keep seeing that Sam Darnold is highly impacted by pressure.

OL Pass Blocking Efficiency Rankings 2024
32nd - Seahawks
30th - Vikings

QB ranking under pressure
6th - Geno Smith
8th - Sam Darnold

When blitzed
9th - Geno Smith
10th - Sam Darnold

Vikings had 2 good tackles (1 who missed over half the season) and a terrible interior OL. Sound familiar?

I'm not trying to hype Darnold. Just challenging the narrative with some facts.

Hugh Millen has a different set of stats than Nemhauser apparently because says the numbers indicate that Darnold was way better under pressure than Geno.

So he agrees Darnold is okay under pressure, that's the issue, why be concerned with our Oline

Still wonder why they felt the need to move on from him. He took a lot of flak in his later years here for making a lot of tackles after the ball carrier had already gained the first down, but that was mainly about having to clean up for a porous D line.
you generally seem concerned about the interior of the defensive line. This guy who's the Athletic's football guru thinks the seahawks could possibly have the number one defense with the interior line being its primary strength
“This defensive tackle unit might be insane,” Klassen said. “Leonard Williams, last year, obviously was one of the best defensive tackles in the league. He played at truly an All-Pro level. … And then I think there’s a chance that Byron Murphy really takes a step and is something similar to what Mike Macdonald had with (second-team All-Pro) Justin Madubuike in Baltimore.

“There are obviously some other good players on the defense. … But I really think that defensive tackle room, if this is the best defense in the league, it’s gonna be because of those guys.”

Wasn't Williams more of a DE than DT, not that it matters really. They need both Reed and Murphy to have good years and limit Hankins' snaps. Addition by subtraction. And hopefully Mike Morris can get on the field along with Rylie Mills.

Hankins played like 34% of the snaps last season, I think he ran out of gas. I see him like a situational piece. Injuries could be the biggest concern, Hankins getting a lot of snaps

Yes, Hankins is useful in some situations like maybe 3rd and short when a run play up the middle is likely, but he has almost no value otherwise IMO. And there is also a depth problem with inside LB and they are in serious trouble there if Jones or Knight goes down.

Yes, the interior rush defense is THE biggest concern on D, not even close. IF they had a real solution at Nose Tackle i would certainly be inclined to agree with that commentator, but until they do that I cant put them in that category. One possibility rumored recently is Vita Vea - now that would solve it alright! seems awful far-fetched of course but i dont have any idea what Tampa's cap sitch is - seems the only way they'd part with such a productive player, but he is getting up in years now. Of course the Hawks have plenty of cap room so might as well take a swing at something like that, especially now having solved the CB depth with a cheaper option in Shaquill than the big names like Ramsey and Alexander.
