Re: Final Trade Deadline Plan
Here is an interesting chart showing the potential needs. I am kind of surprised at Right Field. Looks Pretty obvious that priority one is Bullpen Arms. There are a lot of different ways you could approach the offense. If you can get Geno thats the most obvious plug and play. Gettting a first baseman will probably cost you less than acquiring Geno and you can move Raley to the outfield where he belongs after Canzone inevitably fizzles out. There has really been no chatter about 2nd base. Not even sure about what is available there. If Polanco was healthy enough to play 2nd a bit you could even add a DH.

Also pretty interesting that they have JP as the worst defensive shortstop in baseball.

yeah, I feel like often times i'd rather look at WAR in terms of position rather than player but I don't know where to find itCaptain 97 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 24, 2025 11:51 pmFB_IMG_1753384316143.jpg

Based on an article in MLBTraderumors, I think I know a deal that would get the M's a lot closer to the World Series in 2025.
Mariners send Harry Ford, Tai Peete, Teddy McGraw, and Dawell Joseph
Twins send Willi Castro, Danny Coulumbe, and Jhoan Duran
This deal gives the M's a very nice, almost injury-proof, bullpen that is incredibly long. Heck, a starter goes 6 and leaves with the lead and it is game over. Castro, a switch hitter, gets on base with some pop and can play anywhere especially at 3b. Duran is a free agent in 2028 whereas Castro and Coulumbe are rentals. This would be monster long term get.

Re: Final Trade Deadline Plan
Castro is a nothing burger, I'd rather just go with Polanco at 2b, bring up Locklear for 1b and move Naylor to Dh. The relievers are where this deal is and I wonder what the Twins are more interested in, pitching or hitting? I wonder if we could send them a Luke Raley, Logan Evans/Emerson Hancock, a Troy Taylor, Carlos Vargas, Trent Thornton (latter two out of options) while throwing in a prospect like Michael Morales or Walter Ford to get this deal doneBil522 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 11:16 pmBased on an article in MLBTraderumors, I think I know a deal that would get the M's a lot closer to the World Series in 2025.

Lets say:
Mariners receive
Danny Coulumbe
Jhoan Duran
Twins receive
Luke Raley
Carlos Vargas
Emerson Hancock
Re: Final Trade Deadline Plan
In reading up about the Twins, they have nothing at catcher after Jeffers.... and everyone thinks that as a catcher, he makes a great DH. Duran will only be moved if they are blown away...Ford would be their entrance into the pot. And who would you rather have Castro or Solano? Castro makes the M's betterVogelbomb wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 11:28 pmCastro is a nothing burger, I'd rather just go with Polanco at 2b, bring up Locklear for 1b and move Naylor to Dh. Re: Final Trade Deadline Plan
Yeah, maybe they ask for Ford. In regards to Castro, I'd rather roll with Polanco/Young at 2b and call up Samad Taylor for the utility jobBil522 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 11:51 pm

Re: Final Trade Deadline Plan
I don't disagree about 2b...it is 3b and back up SS and a RH 1b. Remember, that Castro is a switch hitter with a 112 OPS+ in MLB this year.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Sat Jul 26, 2025 1:59 amYeah, maybe they ask for Ford. Re: Final Trade Deadline Plan
Keep blowing up Clevelands phone. Gimme JRam even if it's for a year or 2. I know they'll take Ford at least. Hell flip Emerson their way too, & Peete.
Re: Final Trade Deadline Plan
Polanco hasn't played 2B all season.. How could you think they are going to put the gimp there now??Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 11:28 pmCastro is a nothing burger, I'd rather just go with Polanco at 2b, bring up Locklear for 1b and move Naylor to Dh.
