And if we can Schneider, that means we need to find a new GM and there's no guarantee that he'll be better.
I heard "Carefull what you wish for" when I was fine with Seven Sarkisian leaving. Yeah, that sucked.
I was told that when I pleaded for years for Romar to leave, and while it has been a bit bumpy? Look we have gotten better and everywhere he has gone has been terrible.
Good Lord, look at every thing we have done since second and goal, and you believe THAT is the best this team could have possibly hoped for?
Fear of moving on because we are OK with just being OK is how we get in the position we get into. Fear of what might be is how we hold on to guys like Willingham and Servais, and why we stuck it out with Pete too long. "It's OK that we aren't very good, remember the 80s!?" That is the mantra that Seattle professional sports fans seem to live by.
Okay.
Or maybe better put — Ooooookay?
My guess is that was the reaction from many a Seahawks fan in response to news Wednesday that the contract of team’s general manager, John Schneider, was going to be extended through the 2030 NFL draft.
Because for the past few years — or even the rougher part of the past decade — the Seahawks have been just that: Okay.
as Andre 3000 said, “You only funky as your last cut.” And the Seahawks have A) won just one playoff game since 2016, and B) missed the playoffs the past two years. Last season, mind you, was the first in which Schneider had the final say in all personnel matters. That hammer used to lie in the hands of Carroll.
Closest thing to hard hitting journalism this area will ever get, and he hedges hit bet later by basically saying it might be the right move.

It is a stupid move, at a stupid time. Much like hiring Dan Wilson without even doing a search for anyone else. He has had one season of making his own moves, and it was with at best mixed results, and they were home for the playoffs for third time in four years. Imagine if the Rams game had mattered and they had played their starters? We had to come back to beat their scrubs to get to ten wins.
