Re: Williamson
Well, thank you all for your responses.
My personal feeling is that Gino will be no different than when he was here.
He will not resemble the Gino from AZ because our ballpark is built for left handed bats. I hope I am wrong, but time will tell.
And I wanted the rookie to get the Gold Glove.

I think what you want to look at are doubles. Doubles are what T-mobile saps as opposed to home runs. Its pretty neutral really home run wise. I don't think T-mobile impacted Giino's doubles that much

I think they plan on Raley at DH and Polo at 2b 3/5 Polo has been a 2B recenntlyseth8734 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 9:55 pmNo room to Dh that is Polancos job against rh. I disagree with this move. He can keep playing 3rd and Geno can DH. Williamson is a much better fielder that Geno and has the best fielding percentage in the AL. Wouldn't that make him eligible for the gold glove? If so, why is Jerry fucking him over like that?

Re: Williamson
I think Williamson has much more of a chance to improve his bat than JK. Williamson's swing is total dogshit, but he's still able to hit above .250 at the major league level with a 21% K-rate. And he did that after being rushed through the minor leagues and coming from a second or third tier college baseball program. I don't see Williamson winning any batting titles but I could see him developing into something like an average bat with average power, and if you combine that with elite defense, that's a pretty valuable player.

They aren't going to bench Cole vs. Righties in favor of the Gimp.Michael K. wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 10:48 pmI was actually hoping Polo might play some 2nd Base.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jul 31, 2025 9:54 pmExactly we all saw how well that worked out when they made Garver a full-time DH last season. Williamson is a total noodle bat and will never be a major league regular third baseman. Also if you made Gino the DH then where the heck would Polo be in the lineup?

Re: Williamson
He already has an average BA. What is exactly is going to happen that will result in him hitting more the 1 HR every 250 PAs?? He is going to be 25 yo so he is kind of done growing. The only thing I can think of is PEDs.GL_Storm wrote: ↑Fri Aug 01, 2025 12:29 amI think Williamson has much more of a chance to improve his bat than JK. He needs a swing change. That's what he has to do. Right now, he sort of chops down on the ball.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Aug 01, 2025 1:03 amHe already has an average BA. I don't believe it's that unusual to gain power at around that age, David Bell would be the comp. It's not about Williamson becoming a middle of the order bat but raising his ops to the.750 rangeD-train wrote: ↑Fri Aug 01, 2025 1:03 amHe already has an average BA. Re: Williamson
I guess my view is different. I don't see positions as power positions. If you have a SS who hits 25 HR's and 3b who hits 2, who cares? It is the roster that needs to hit the HR's not the position. Baseball history is loaded with very good players who can't hit much but are fabulous fielding players. Ozzie and Omar are just 2 that come to mind. This year, the M's have a position going insane with the power, and that is catcher. Usually, catchers are good for 15ish HR's a year this year Cal will triple that. The M's did not need more HR's, they needed more people on base so that when the HR is hit, it is 2-4 runs not just 1. That is roster construction, which is where Jerry has failed so miserably. Ben needs to go down and become a more consistent hitter to be sure, but power will never be his game and we should never expect it.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Aug 01, 2025 1:52 amI don't believe it's that unusual to gain power at around that age, David Bell would be the comp.
